About the Job:
Odyssey logistics and Technology is looking for a talented and motivated Data Engineer with Python, PySpark, Databricks & AWS knowledge to join our team and help us build and maintain data analytics pipelines on the Databricks platform. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and deploying scalable and efficient data pipelines using Python, PySpark and other relevant technologies.



In This Role, You Will:


We are looking for a Data engineer with hands-on cloud data migration development experience. The candidate should have experience in supporting enterprise applications and exposure to Cloud based database engineering platforms. Build data integrations between on-prem/cloud-based systems.



  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable and efficient data pipelines for extracting, transforming, and loading (ETL) data from various sources into our data warehouse leveraging AWS, Databricks, Python and SQL technologies.

  • Optimize and troubleshoot existing data pipelines for performance and reliability.

  • Implement data quality and validation processes to ensure accuracy and consistency of data.

  • Work closely with data scientists, analysts, and other stakeholders to understand data use cases and provide the necessary infrastructure and support.

  • Participating in technical design, application build, configuration, unit testing, and production deployment.

  • Providing technical expertise and ownership in the diagnosis and resolution of issues, including the determination and provision of workaround solution or escalation to service owners.



The impact you will have:



  • End to end Cloud Data Lake design & development including data ingestion, data modeling and data distribution.

  • Optimize data pipelines for performance and efficiency. Monitor data pipelines and troubleshoot any issues.

  • Work with Databricks clusters and configuration management tools.

  • Use appropriate tools in the cloud data lake development and deployment. Developing/implementing cloud infrastructure to support current and future business needs.

  • Provide technical expertise and ownership in the diagnosis and resolution of issues, including the determination and provision of workaround solution or escalation to business owners.

  • Ensure all cloud solutions exhibit a higher level of cost efficiency, performance, security, scalability, and reliability.

Required:



  • Bachelor's degree or experience in Data Science and Management field.

  • 3+ years of experience developing and implementing data pipelines, experience as a Data Engineer or similar role.

  • Familiarity with Databricks platform and its capabilities.

  • Familiarity with cloud platforms, such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.

  • Proficiency in SQL and experience with relational databases.

  • Proficiency in at least one programming language (e.g., Python, Java, Scala) for data processing and scripting.

  • Knowledge of data modeling and database design principles.

  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently and with team members from diverse backgrounds.

  • Excellent attention to detail



Desired:



  • Experience with AWS cloud platform.

  • Experience with DevOps practices

  • SSRS/SSIS



Location: This is an in-office role based in Charlotte, NC
