SUMMARY:

This position will work as a manufacturing engineer supporting a large capacity expansion project with Renewal by Andersen. Opportunities are available in both Cottage Grove, MN and Locust Grove, GA locations. Primary focus will be project based and will include manufacturing system design, procurement of capital assets, installation and start-up of the complete manufacturing system.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Lead and/or support project teams on the successful commercialization and start-up of new fabrication equipment and processes.
• Interface with design, product engineering, supply chain, and other business partners on the design for manufacturability, process capability of new product or extensions.
• Provide recommendations regarding the viability of developed design solutions that relate to new or current processes.
• Facilitate cross-functional team meetings, kaizens, and Process System Design events.
• Ensure built in quality by using DMAIC tools: Process mapping, process capability, C&E Matrix, fishbone diagram, FMEA, MSA, DOE, Control Plans.
• Develop specifications to procure production equipment and/or complete production lines.
• Partner with the Safety Teams to ensure all new or modified processes meet or exceed corporate safety requirements.
• Create training tools, documents and standard operating procedures for production processes ensuring consistent manufacturability.
• Introduce new perspectives on existing solutions to continuously improve production and material flow processes.
• Provide operational technical support for existing applications and processes

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

• BS in Mechanical/Manufacturing/Industrial Engineering or equivalent engineering experience
• 1-5+ years of engineering experience preferred with mechanical aptitude
• Demonstrate an understanding and application of methodologies associated with project planning and experience working with collaborative cross-functional teams
• Demonstrate knowledge of lean manufacturing principals
• Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
• Communicate effectively through written, verbal, listening, and presentation skills
• Knowledge and experience with quality systems, statistical process control, process capability and lean manufacturing tools
• Knowledge of 2D & 3D solid modeling preferred (AutoCad/Inventor)
• Travel requirements may be up to 30%, primary location Cottage Grove, MN or Locust Grove, GA.

In 2024, Andersen has set a profit-sharing target of $4,000 per eligible employee, prorated as appropriate. Profit sharing will be paid out in quarterly installments to provide eligible employees with payments throughout the year, with payment amounts tied to quarterly operating profit performance.
