Work Arrangement : This role is categorized as onsite. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Grand Rapids Operations on a full-time basis.

The Role:

As an Engineering Shift Leader, you will have supervisory responsibility for a medium group of engineers, across multiple shifts, supporting the manufacturing business unit while building an atmosphere of teamwork and cooperation.

You will maintain awareness of quality standards, communicate department quality goals, and leverage resources to solve issues. You will be the technical leader for Valvetrain Manufacturing Engineering.

What You'll Do:

  • Work directly with CNC machinery and cutting tools
  • Holds responsibility for the effective use of personnel, material, and equipment
  • Participates in the selection of new employees and trains, develops and evaluates salaried team members
  • Supports Global Manufacturing Systems (GMS) processes across multiple departments and serve as lead resource for quality standards
  • Point of contact for various contractors and vendors that support manufacturing and maintenance
  • Achieve production schedules and product requirements by applying lean manufacturing principles with Continuous Improvement initiatives.
  • Act as technical lead for capital forecasting and improvements

Additional Description

Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications) :

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of experience within high-volume manufacturing environment
  • Previous experience in machining

What Will Give You A Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications):

  • 8+ years of experience within high-volume manufacturing environment
  • Previous leadership/supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Ability to read and interpret production drawings (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing, GD & T)
