Independently operate department equipment, demonstrating a strong understanding of testing procedures and guidelines (excluding NDT & RCBs) Perform machining of test specimens and parts using CNC and other lathes Set up and operate cylindrical grinders to produce low-stress ground test specimens Machine blank samples into reference standards based on provided blueprints or drawings, documenting all relevant information Manufacture, maintain, or machine jigs, fixtures, or parts required for the Met Lab or other departmental needs Calibrate movements on milling machines, electric discharge machines, surface roughness indicators, and micrometer sets Read lab travelers and determine furnace utilization Report any out-of-calibration conditions (as found) to supervision Undertake additional duties and special projects as assigned
