Lead and set example to provide quality supplies and equipment by controlling, storing and distributing the correct supplies and equipment, on time, in the right quantity, in the right condition. Work with team members to complete assignments and maintain a continual workflow. Handles inventory issues and assist customers with inventory and equipment problems. Interacts with vendors and identify changes to staff members. Assist in the evaluation of team members.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises technicians and assist them with daily tasks when necessary. Identify inefficiencies and discuss with Manager and make recommendations to improve productivity. Actively participates in the selection of new distribution technicians. Communicates to team members when special services are required by customers and follows up during the shift operation to ensure requests are attended to timely. Oversees the supply and equipment requirements for the shift, instructs and acts as a resource for team members in data entry functions for all issues and returns of supplies. Communicates issues / concerns with the Manager, team members and second shift to minimize a delay in service, thus increasing overall effectiveness and productivity. Assign or adjust task assignments and attendance schedule in the absence of the manager. Monitors staff attendance and the adjustment log entries. Observes workflow and makes adjustments if required to insure distribution standards are maintained. Coach or encourage the Materials Distribution Technicians. Observe competencies and report performances of team members for input in evaluations. Assist in the VPR and EIN process.
  • Knows the location, purpose and proper methods to care for supplies and equipment used routinely for patient care and acts as a resource to all departments with regard to product, equipment and service availability. Assists team members filling orders and restocking the Omnicells and other supply storage areas, when necessary. Monitor cleaning assignments for Omnicell, aisle locations and the bulk area. Stock shelves and rotate stock as needed to minimize obsolescence. Monitor equipment set-up and availability of replenished Code Carts.
  • Enter requisitions, track supply orders, and maintain the bulk storeroom area in the absence of the Inventory Controller. Reports item description, unit of measure discrepancies and low stock items to the Inventory Controller, to resolve or minimize problems. Assist with product evaluations and recalls. Use E-mail to inform customers of important inventory concerns or changes. Participates in staff meeting and addresses department concerns.
  • Enters issues, returns, orders and patient charge items in the HEMM and Horizon Clinical systems as needed. Reviews equipment and cart tracking log books, verify that entries are complete and makes corrections when necessary. Makes calls and maintains records for service of equipment, maintenance and enters service requests for Omnicell. Follows up on all service calls. Assist as needed to research discrepancies. Ensure forms and materials are available for completing assignments. Complete responsibility task lists weekly and monthly equipment set up spreadsheet and review with items, users and/or information to Omnicell database and report changes. Handle or report special requests for products additions or deletions to the Omnicell and keep the inquirer and Manager informed.
  • Other duties and/or projects as assigned.
  • Adheres to HMH Organizational competencies and standards of behavior.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma, general equivalency diploma (GED), and/or GED equivalent programs.
  • Adaptable to changes and positive leadership experience required. Good workplace interactions, quality communication skills and team oriented essential. Inventory Control and Warehouse experience required.
  • Knowledge of computers and printers. Flexible and able to train team members. Takes responsibility and is committed to learning and accepts adapting quality improvement processes. Problem solving ability required.

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred:

  • Minimum of two years of Central Distribution experience.
