Title: Wire EDM Operator/Programmer

Position Overview: As a Wire EDM Operator/Programmer, you will be responsible for setting up, operating, and programming Wire Electrical Discharge Machines (Wire EDM) to produce precision parts in accordance with engineering drawings and specifications. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Wire EDM machinery, a strong attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet production goals.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Machine Setup and Operation:
• Set up and operate Wire EDM machines to produce high-precision components.
• Load and unload workpieces, install and align tooling, and perform necessary machine adjustments.
• Monitor machine performance, make adjustments as needed, and troubleshoot issues to ensure continuous production.
2. Programming:
• Develop and optimize CNC programs for Wire EDM machines based on engineering drawings and specifications.
• Utilize Gibbs or Mastercam software to create and modify programs, taking into account material properties and toolpath efficiency.
3. Quality Assurance:
• Perform in-process and final inspections to ensure components meet quality standards.
• Use precision measuring instruments (CMM) and gauges to verify dimensions and tolerances.
• Make necessary adjustments to maintain tight tolerances and high-quality standards.
4. Maintenance:
• Conduct routine maintenance on Wire EDM machines to ensure optimal performance.
• Identify and report any equipment issues to maintenance staff for timely resolution.
• Keep work area clean and organized.
Qualifications:
• Minimum 5 years experience operating CNC machines
• Proven experience as a Wire EDM Operator/Programmer in a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency in setting up and operating Wire EDM machines.
• Strong programming skills using Gibbs or Mastercam software.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Solid understanding of machining principles and tooling.
• Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality components.
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Knowledge of materials and their machining characteristics.
• Experience operating Grinders a plus
Education and Experience:
• High school diploma or equivalent; technical certifications in machining are a plus.
• Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in Wire EDM operations and programming.
