For more information about the company and product line visit: Position Summary: The Assembly Manufacturing Engineer II provides support for all pistol and rifle assembly lines. This position creates and maintains tools, fixtures, gages, and automation equipment. The Assembly Manufacturing Engineer works with cross-functional teams to ensure processes are continually being improved to increase efficiency and throughput on the assembly lines. Job Duties and Responsibilities: *Plan and design manufacturing processes for the assembly floor. *Implement manufacturing processes for new and existing firearm product designs while providing budgetary estimates for equipment, tools, gages and production rates. *Provide Router and/or BOM information for pistol and rifle finished goods *Use project management techniques to procure tooling and equipment for new products to meet launch timelines and cost targets. *Evaluate and improve product designs for Manufacturability while applying GD&T and dimensional stackups. *Provide production floor support to maintain output and quality for technical systems and manufacturing processes including: *Assembly *Automation *Machine / Tool Design *Originate and develop new systems and processes and implement into full production. *Debug and runoff new capital equipment to meet plant goals for quality, throughput, and cost. *Recommend and implement alterations and enhancements to improve quality of products, and/or procedures and the output and quality of manufacturing processes. *Resolve quality issues related to product and processes using statistical methods. *Perform as technical leader for assembly production personnel including assembly line associates, leads, and managers. *Provides consultation on problem solving teams and complete assigned tasks per agreed upon timelines. *Provide support to the toolroom for all assigned machining projects which include: *Designing fixtures and gages *Creating control plans *Ensuring machined parts are capable of meeting drawing tolerances. *Working with Sustaining/R&D to make sure the parts are manufacturable. *Provide Router and/or BOM information to correctly set parts up in Agile. *Working closely with the finishing department when finishing operations are needed. Education and/or Experience: *Bachelor's degree in mechanical or manufacturing engineering and at least 3 years of experience or 5+ years of experience with trade apprenticeship or equivalent metal trades experience in a related field. *Proficiency with Solidworks or similar CAD system. *Good working knowledge of materials and heat-treating processes. *Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) ASME Y14.5M-1994. *Must be able to work in a team, plan, and execute multiple projects. *Written and verbal communication of complicated subjects is required. *Organization of documentation and record keeping shall be to a high standard. *Must be able to rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. *Possesses a wide degree of creativity and latitude.
