Our Powertrain Operations facility, located on Pilgrim Road in Menomonee Falls, WI, is where the "jewel" of the motorcycle comes to life. Pilgrim Road employees produce engines and transmissions for the final assembly plant in York, Pennsylvania, as well as transmissions, and replacement parts for sale through Harley-Davidson Genuine Motor Parts and Accessories business. Job Summary

The Quality Lead position is the key contact for business data analytics and providing support and guidance to functional areas related to quality. Demonstrates specialized depth and / or breadth of expertise in the uniform application of engineering cosmetic standards and guides and influences manufacturing organization.

Job Responsibilities

  • Collect data and perform operational analysis on manufacturing processes to correlate to product design and functional specifications.
  • Evaluate weekly warranty data to establish countermeasures for Emerging and Top Issues quality concerns.
  • Evaluate manufacturing Quality Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for the facility; First Pass Yield (FPY), Scrap, and Conditions per Hundred (CPH).
  • Taking a lead role in troubleshooting, problem solving, failure analysis, root cause, and corrective action processes as related to process non-conformances and continuous improvement.
  • Facilitate improvement activities using established problem-solving methods (CAR, PPS, Red X, QMR, DOE).
  • Maintain a presence on the shop floor for effective communication with process owners.
  • Effectively communicates complex information regarding quality performance to manufacturing front line personnel and staff stakeholders.
  • Participate in the creation of manufacturing controls and equipment qualification validation plans, validation protocols and reports, and their implementation.
  • Support auditing of production processes to function in compliance to the ISO9000 standards.
  • Provide support for nonstandard process as needed in the production areas.
  • Track and manage capital expenditures for quality improvement projects.
  • Advises others on methods of resolving quality problems and exchanges information with other quality personnel.
  • Coordinates component and process improvement activities with Supplier Quality and Resident Engineering.
  • Coordinate Weekly Audit of Warranty Engine Return Authorization.
  • Track Warranty Authorizations to support effective countermeasures.
  • Communicate warranty concerns with shop floor personnel.
  • Awareness of Redzone functionality with digital manufacturing scoreboards to provide real-time quality performance.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.
Education Requirements Bachelor's Degree PreferredExperience Requirements
