Are you a manufacturing professional who excels in process management and leading teams? Emerson has an exciting opportunity for you! As a Machining and Welding Manager, you will play a key role in shaping the strategic direction of our machining and welding operations. Your primary responsibility will be to develop and implement strategies that enhance efficiency, quality, and innovation within the department. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, critical thinking, and leadership skills to drive continuous improvement and achieve organizational objectives.

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:
  • Strategy: Collaborate with senior management to define long-term goals for the machining and welding department. Ensure alignment between departmental strategies and overall organizational goals, values, and priorities.
  • Technology and Innovation: Evaluate potential investments in new equipment, software, or tools to enhance productivity, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Drive Process Improvement: Continuously evaluate machining processes to find opportunities for improvement in efficiency, productivity, and cost-effectiveness. Implement changes and standard processes to enhance overall performance.
  • Resource Management: Lead resources such as materials, workforce, and equipment to optimize production output and minimize waste.
  • Communication: Maintain open and effective communication with management and other departments, including engineering, quality assurance, and operations, to coordinate activities and resolve any issues that may arise.
  • Deliver Results: Set departmental goals and objectives in alignment with organizational targets. Supervise key performance indicators to assess departmental performance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with other departments, such as engineering, production planning, and quality assurance, to ensure seamless integration of machining and welding activities into the overall manufacturing process.
  • Develop the team: Provide coaching, guidance, and mentorship to employees, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous learning.

For This Role, You Will Need:
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Excellent leadership and social skills, with the ability to optimally manage and empower a team.
  • Proficiency in problem-solving and decision-making, with the ability to analyze data and implement solutions.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills and the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Familiarity with safety regulations and procedures in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with employees at all levels of the organization.

Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart:
  • Knowledge of industry standards and practices in machining and/or welding.
  • Experience with implementing process improvement initiatives, such as Kaizen or 5S.
  • Experience with setup and operation of conventional, CNC mills and lathes.
  • Solid understanding of machining and/or welding processes, equipment, and materials.
  • Proven experience in machining and/or welding operations, with at least 5 years of shown experience in supervision.
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
