Job Summary:

As a Material Handler in our manufacturing facility, you will play a crucial role in the efficient flow of materials and products throughout our production process. You will be responsible for ensuring the timely delivery of materials to production lines, maintaining inventory accuracy, and supporting various departments within the manufacturing operation. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Material handlers work closely with production teams, warehouse staff, and sometimes logistics personnel to ensure seamless material flow throughout the manufacturing facility.

Responsibilities:

Quality and Compliance:

  • Adhere to all safety regulations and protocols to maintain a safe work environment.
  • Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) for material handling and storage.
  • Comply with company policies and guidelines regarding quality control and regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance material handling processes and efficiency.
  1. Material Receiving:

    • Receive incoming materials, components, and supplies from vendors or other departments.
    • Inspect received materials for quality and accuracy against purchase orders or specifications.
    • Verify quantities received and document discrepancies as necessary.
    • Properly label and store incoming materials in designated warehouse locations.
  2. Inventory Management:

    • Maintain accurate inventory records using computerized systems or manual logs.
    • Perform regular cycle counts and physical inventories to reconcile discrepancies.
    • Monitor inventory levels and communicate reorder needs to procurement or purchasing departments.
    • Organize and optimize warehouse storage to maximize space utilization and efficiency.
  3. Material Handling:

    • Pick, pack, and stage materials for production orders according to standard operating procedures.
    • Transport materials between storage areas and production lines using forklifts, pallet jacks, or other equipment.
    • Follow safety protocols and guidelines when handling hazardous materials or operating machinery.
    • Assist in loading and unloading trucks for inbound and outbound shipments.
  4. Production Support:

    • Collaborate with production supervisors and operators to ensure timely delivery of materials to support production schedules.
    • Respond promptly to material requests from production teams, prioritizing urgent needs.
    • Identify and report any issues or obstacles that may impede production efficiency or quality.

  1. Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or training in logistics or supply chain management is a plus.
  • Proven experience working in a manufacturing or warehouse environment, preferably in a material handling role.
  • Valid forklift certification and demonstrated proficiency in operating material handling equipment safely. or willing to obtain forklift certificaiton
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in inventory management and record-keeping.
  • Ability to lift and move heavy objects and stand for extended periods.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with inventory management software or systems.
  • Work night shift from 5p to 4a Monday to Friday and Saturday from 3p to 11:15p, including weekends and overtime as needed.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periods.
  • Comfortable working in a warehouse environment with exposure to noise, dust, and fluctuating temperatures.
