Join our Lifecycle Engineering Team and play a crucial role in the maintenance and optimization of legacy product value streams, equipment, tooling, and continuous improvement projects. The Manufacturing Engineer position will work closely with cross-functional teams, including lifecycle engineering, maintenance, manufacturing, supply chain, and new product engineering to support legacy products and execute continuous improvement projects. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical proficiency, project management skills, a solid understanding of manufacturing principles, and a proven track record in problem solving and risk mitigation.

How You Contribute:

  • Ensure compliance with facility safety guidelines and promote a culture of safety within the manufacturing operations.
  • Partner with operations and maintenance teams to support equipment, process, fixture, and tooling performance and uptime meeting customer expectations.
  • Support operations CNC and automation processes metals processing, woodshop, powder coat, polyshop, and other processes.
  • Implement manufacturing strategies for legacy products to bolster performance, including process requirements, capacity analyses, and necessary investments. Conduct stakeholder reviews to obtain buy-in from all levels of operations leadership.
  • Initiate and lead continuous improvement projects to improve production equipment, process, or fixtures, and tooling for the operations team.
  • Support operations and product launches through collaborative input and guidance in process, equipment, and/or fixtures & tooling as needed.
  • Support finance, supply chain, lifecycle engineering, and operations teams with product portfolio management through the continuous improvement and product discontinuation process.
  • Develop and maintain facility layouts in support operations and organizational initiatives.
  • Undertake other projects and responsibilities as necessary to support product development and manufacturing operations.

Criteria for Success:

Must have a history of achievement with an emphasis on customer service and problem-solving. Strong candidates must have a track record of success in developing lean manufacturing processes and project management. Must have the desire to continuously improve and be willing to accept responsibility for decision-making. Must work well in a team environment, building a network of relationships with a positive attitude.

Engineers must have the ability to work independently and must objectively plan and organize tasks to meet project deadlines. Must have strong written and oral communication skills and have the ability to communicate technical information effectively with individuals at all levels.

Education, Experience and Skills

Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent skill level, training, or experience in related field. Must demonstrate knowledge in the use of lean manufacturing and project management tools. Engineers must possess the ability to read and interpret blueprints. Must be knowledgeable in the use of common quality system tools such as PFMEA, capability studies, GD&T, tolerance stack-ups, standard deviation. Must possess an understanding of basic manufacturing equipment including lasers, rollers, welders, presses, robotic automation solutions, lathes, mills, plasma, and associated tooling solutions. Must be proficient Microsoft Office software and the ability to utilize SolidWorks and AutoCAD. Experience in metal fabrication, cellular manufacturing, and a base knowledge of the properties of materials used in site furniture such as steel, concrete, aluminum, wood, and plastics is required. Must be able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in common units of measure and have a working knowledge of data collection, data analysis, and evaluation.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment

Mostly office, but may be required to work in noisy or hot environment and around moving machinery. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds. Must be able to stand, sit, or walk for up to 10 hours.
