The following position is available with the Oklahoma Department of Career and Technology Education.

High School Equivalency Coordinator Federal Division

The High School Equivalency (HSE) Coordinator provides day-to-day coordination of the High School Equivalency Program; coordinates planning, communications, records, evaluation, and training activities necessary to effectively implement HSE testing across the state. Works directly with existing and new community partners to ensure successful programs, including contracting, volunteer recruitment, training, and program management. Position contingent upon federal grant funding. Requires extensive travel and overnight stays. Position based in Stillwater OK but may consider field-based office location. Occasional job functions are performed within a correctional environment, entry and exit from the workplace will be controlled by correctional facility.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: REQUIRED: • Bachelor’s degree. • Three years supervision, coordination, or teaching experience

PREFERRED: • Master’s degree. • Experience with Adult Education and Family Literacy (AEFL) or CareerTech system

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: · Serve as the Oklahoma’s High School Equivalency (HSE) Test Administrator · Provide oversight to Oklahoma’s high school equivalency program · Establish and maintain effective working relationships with local school officials, postsecondary institutions, community-based organizations, business, industry, and social service groups. · Act as a liaison for Oklahoma’s HSE program between test-takers and HSE vendors. · Provide technical assistance and guidance to local testing centers in planning and implementation of HSE activities and services. · Serve as a member of various state and national leadership committees that impact adult education and drive policy and decision-making, which may include but are not limited to high school equivalency advisory committees and workforce committees, as assigned by the state director of career and technology education. · Provide leadership and guidance to adult education programs in creating and cultivating a culture that assists students in overcoming barriers and obstacles to obtain their high school equivalency. · Assists with the preparation of related AEFLA reports. · Collect and compile data for assessment/evaluation and compilation of HSE reports. · Conduct desktop and onsite monitoring visits of HSE testing centers and develop strategies for accountability. · Provide professional development opportunities to the AEFL / HSE instructors to implement effective teaching and learning techniques to increase credential attainment rates.

Salary/Benefits: $56,985.95 - $63,421.34 commensurate with education or experience. Total salary and benefits package valued at $69,536.53 - $76,456.30.
