SUMMARY The Communication Specialist is responsible for promoting a positive image of the company ensuring internal communications reflect the mission, vision, and values of Banterra. Additional key responsibilities include assisting with the management of all internal communications channels and platforms, ensuring all communications are updated, relevant, engaging, while fostering a culture of communication, collaboration, and recognition. The ideal individual for this role should be an adaptable, creative, and effective communicator with strong copywriting skills. Collaborating across departments, this role contributes to the overall success of the organization by supporting strategic goals and values while acting as a supportive member of the communication team and Banterra. All employees are to protect the information and assets of the organization through heightened awareness of information security, cybersecurity, and risk management best practices, as well as complying with all applicable laws, regulations, and organizational policies. ESSENTIAL DUTIES
  • Assist with the development and implementation of communication strategies that promote the company's mission, vision, and values to its team members.
  • Work closely as a member of the Communication team to ensure that all communications align with the company's goals and objectives.
  • Assist in the development and management of internal communication channels, including newsletters, intranet sites, and other platforms as directed.
  • Perform specialized or confidential clerical work, including correspondence, memos, forms, and tables.
  • Assist with content creation, monitoring, and review processes for internal communications, including memos, newsletters, videos, and presentations.
  • Support Communications efforts to establish and monitor internal communication brand standards.
  • Assist with monitoring team member feedback and make recommendations to adjust communication strategies as appropriate.
  • Assist all internal departments to direct, create, and publish content to the company's intranet site, ensuring that content is current and engaging.
  • Collaborate across departments to produce internal articles and other communications.
  • Assist in the communication of strategies and messages from senior leadership as directed.
  • Assist with the management and/or possible development of a new intranet solution.
  • Assume responsibility for special projects as assigned.
EDUCATION & CERTIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in communications, a related field, or a commensurate combination of education and experience required.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
  • Direct experience in internal communications, strategic planning, or a related field.
  • A strong understanding of project management principles.
  • A highly organized approach to work, with the ability to clearly define inefficiencies, offer appropriate solutions, and document processes.
  • Change management skills and the ability to effectively help team members adapt to new policies and procedures.
  • Confident decision-making abilities and the skill to use sound judgment about the timing of choices; particularly the ability to make informed, responsible decisions with limited information or under considerable amounts of stress.
  • Strong critical-thinking skills and the ability to analyze potential project outcomes with the adaptability to redirect attention as needed to meet targets and deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, within the organization at all levels.
  • A positive and proactive approach to work, demonstrating enthusiasm, adaptability, and the ability to maintain composure and professionalism in stressful or adverse conditions.
  • Proficient computer literacy, including comfort with Microsoft systems and Office Suite.
  • Intermediate typing skills to meet the needs of this position.
  • Current driver's license and reliable transportation with appropriate insurance coverage; additionally, the ability to drive occasionally while performing assigned duties and responsibilities.
  • The ability to work with minimal or no supervision.
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
  • Project management certification preferred.
  • Experience working with remote and hybrid national teams preferred.
