Novant Health is hiring for a Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) registered nurse for the night shift at our New Hanover Regional Medical Center location in Wilmington, NC. We're offering up to a $15,000 sign-on bonus as well as $7,500 relocation.

  • Schedule: Full-Time, 0.9 FTE, 72 Hours per 2 weeks, 12-Hour Night Shift, 7p-7a

We're in search of a registered nurse to join our team at New Hanover Regional Medical Center's Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU). With 16 beds and a nurse-to-patient ratio averaging 1 to 2, our unit operates in a fast-paced environment focused on teamwork and mutual support. Our diverse team comprises both newer nurses and seasoned professionals, creating a rich learning environment and fostering a culture of collaboration and growth.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide specialized care to critically ill patients in the MICU.
  • Monitor patients closely and respond to changes in their condition.
  • Work with healthcare teams to develop and implement care plans.
  • React quickly to emergencies and perform life-saving interventions.
  • Educate patients and families on care and treatment options.
  • Maintain accurate records of patient assessments and treatments.


Job Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required.
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in nursing.
  • Current valid North Carolina nursing license required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) through American Red Cross or American Heart Association required.
  • 1 Year of ED or ICU experience in an acute hospital setting.

If your RN nursing license has been inactive, retired or lapsed for five years or more and you have not been licensed in another state during the last five years, successful completion of a Board approved refresher course is required prior to reactivating or reinstating your license. In order to be considered for current licensure status, you must apply for reinstatement within one year of completing the refresher course.
