Inspīr Senior Living, Maplewood Senior Living’s new brand of world-class, urban senior living properties, is now hiring a Registered Nurse for its Inspīr Carnegie Hill property. Inspīr Carnegie Hill is located on the Upper East Side and stands 23 stories with 215 residential units. It offers assisted living, enhanced care, and memory care with a unique and innovative Integrated Care Model. Typical Work Duties & Functions 

  • Provide outstanding customer service to all residents, family members, responsible persons, and visitors to the residence
  • Coordinate and deliver nursing care to residents, including but not limited to skilled assessment of chronic conditions, acute symptoms, illness or injury; catheter care, wound care, dressing changes, nebulizer treatments, ostomy care, and management of medical equipment; medication management, including administration of oral medications, injections or PRN medications and assist residents with self-administration of medication.
  • Supervise Resident Care Department staff, including LPNs and Care Partners
  • Maintain positive collaborative relations with residents, families and provider partners
  • Report any observed significant incidents and/or changes in the resident’s condition to the Senior Director of Resident Care, Primary Care Provider and family as indicated.
  • Support the completion of resident assessments in the building and in the community and participate in the development of Individualized Service Plans.
  • Support Directors in hiring Resident Care staff
  • Manage Resident Care staff performance by providing mentoring, coaching and/or counseling as needed
  • Assist with training and orientation of Resident Care staff.
  • Attend and participate in scheduled in-service programs, training programs and staff meetings.
  • Assist with scheduling and staffing of Resident Care staff as needed.
  • Follow all emergency procedures.
  • Understand and comply with all Inspīr safety practices and procedures.
  • May perform other duties as assigned, including but not limited to RN oversight of clinical staff when nursing leadership is not in the residence.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must be a Registered Nurse (RN), licensed to practice in the state of New York with either:
    • A baccalaureate degree and a minimum of two (2) years of full-time, or the equivalent of full-time, clinical experience in nursing, where at least one (1) year of which was in a home health care agency, hospital, skilled nursing facility, or other post-acute setting; or
    • A diploma or associate's degree in nursing and at least four (4) years of recent full-time, or the equivalent of full-time, clinical experience in nursing, where at least one (1) year of which was in a home health care agency, hospital, skilled nursing facility, or other post-acute setting.
  • Experience in assisted living, home health or long-term care setting preferred.
  • Experience with and/or special interest in working with seniors.
  • Free of communicable diseases

  • Must be able to convey and understand information and ideas in English
  • Must be effective in handling problems in the workplace, including anticipating, preventing, identifying, and solving problems as necessary
  • Must work well in stressful, high pressure situations
  • Must maintain composure and objectivity under pressure
  • Must have the ability to assimilate complex information, data, etc. from multiple sources and consider, adjust, or modify to meet the constraints of the particular situation
  • Must be effective at listening to, understanding, and clarifying the concerns and issues raised by residents and guests
  • Must be able to work with and understand financial information and data and basic arithmetic functions
  • Must be able to prioritize departmental functions to meet due dates and deadlines
  • Ability to stand for long hours and walk long distances without fatigue
  • Ability to bend, stretch, stoop, and reach repeatedly without difficulty
  • Exerting up to 60 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects
  • Ability to transfer residents and use a Hoyer Lift and other medical equipment when needed
  • Utilize technology as a means of communication necessary to support resident needs and ensure operational compliance as well as resident safety and security
