Role Summary/Purpose:

Synchrony is continuing to build a world class Online Digital Bank – with smart savings products that help consumers prepare for their futures.  Our Bank Marketing team brings these products to life through all stages and touchpoints of the customer lifecycle.   Within Bank Marketing, this Digital Product Owner would be responsible for our marketing site: They will play a pivotal role in partnering with our brand, product, lifecycle, acquisition, and operations teams to make sure our website and user experience is best in class.

Occasionally you may be required to commute to our nearest office for in person engagement activities such as business or team meetings, training and culture events.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Identify & prioritize business needs and translate to business rules/stories for agile Kanban team

  • Oversight and leadership of the wing-to-wing product development lifecycle including build, test, launch, and adoption 

  • Work with the Agile Development Team & Scrum Master, lead backlog planning and grooming, and support Releases

  • Coordinate and lead user acceptance testing (UAT) for releases as needed

  • Partner with our internal SEO team to optimize our site SEO

  • Become expert in our content management system & capabilities, make updates in that tool as needed

  • Ensure our site meets ADA WCAG AA standards

  • Responsible for gathering market intelligence, competitive insights and user VOC and translating into business strategies and creating detailed user stories/requirements 

  • Work with UX partners to create screen prototypes/wireframes, gather feedback and adjust to optimize performance as needed

  • Support all rate changes; ensure process is place is well understood and successful

  • Partner with key stakeholders such as Marketing & Branding, IT, Compliance, and Operations to identify and prioritize future features to deliver to market and to ultimately manage the product backlog

  • Responsible for all “run the engine” functions for the site, such as triaging and managing defects, employee education, user inquiries, SLA issues, etc. 

  • Partner with Digital Analytics team to closely monitor and understand usage patterns online and utilize tools such as Google Analytics

  • Partner closely with legal & compliance to ensure disclosures are accurate & all site updates are approved by them

  • Audit our site on a regular basis to ensure all disclosures are up to date

  • Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned

  • Work closely with our other Consumer Bank Digital Product Owners to create a unified digital customer experience

  • Work closely with our other Synchrony marketing site Product Owners to support the broader SYF brand

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree OR in lieu of degree; high school diploma/GED and 9+ years of digital product and/or web product experience within a digital banking organization

  • 5+ years of digital product and/or web product experience to include:

  • 2+ years of agile experience

  • Experience with Agile (work or preferably, trained) and/or Agile Kanban teams

  • Track record of creative & strong problem solving and ability to thrive in a cross-functional and virtual environment

  • High energy, self-motivated, with strong communication skills (verbal and written)

  • Passion for learning about new technologies and identifying ways to drive innovation

  • Excellent analytical and presentation skills within all levels of the organization. Effectively communicate and influence all leadership levels of Synchrony and its partners

  • Strategic thinker with ability to develop and implement actionable plans to drive business results 

  • Strong project management experience with a record of delivering on time and across functions

  • Strong digital proficiency, including launching new products and capabilities and understanding of web applications  

  • Experience in leading large cross-functional virtual project teams

Grade/Level: 11

                                                                                      

The salary range for this position is 90,000.00 - 155,000.00 USD Annual and is eligible for an annual bonus based on individual and company performance.

                                 

Actual compensation offered within the posted salary range will be based upon work experience, skill level or knowledge.

Salaries are adjusted according to market in CA, NY Metro and Seattle.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • You must be 18 years or older

  • You must have a high school diploma or equivalent

  • You must be willing to take a drug test, submit to a background investigation and submit fingerprints as part of the onboarding process

  • You must be able to satisfy the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act.

  • New hires (Level 4-7) must have 9 months of continuous service with the company before they are eligible to post on other roles.  Once this new hire time in position requirement is met, the associate will have a minimum 6 months’ time in position before they can post for future non-exempt roles.  Employees, level 8 or greater, must have at least 18 months’ time in position before they can post.  All internal employees must consistently meet performance expectations and have approval from your manager to post (or the approval of your manager and HR if you don’t meet the time in position or performance expectations).
