Quality & Compliance Lead – Central Pharmacy Services

At Central Pharmacy Services, we enable the Future of Pharmacy. Shoppers Drug Mart is going through a historic transformation that will eventually change healthcare as we know it in Canada. The CPS team is at the center of this exciting change. We are building the most streamlined and versatile central fill network in the country and looking for colleagues who can help us make it a reality.

Reporting to the Director of Operations, the Compliance and Quality Lead manages product and service quality and ensures the site fulfills obligations to patients and regulators.

What you will do

Being the designated pharmacy manager for the site.
Act as the primary point of contact for investigating and managing pharmacy incidents. This includes collaborating with team leaders and managers to perform timely investigations, action plans, and documentation.
Create period-end and quarter-end reports to identify and monitor emerging error trends. Collaborate with team leaders and managers to reduce errors based on root cause.
Highlight and recommend quality improvement opportunities to management.
Create colleague-friendly reports to highlight incident trends.
Act as A/QPIC for Health Canada licensed dealer and manage monthly and annual reporting.
Collaborate with Quality Assurance to investigate and document losses pertaining to narcotics, controlled, and targeted medications.
Assist in training policies and procedures related to the Health Canada Office of Controlled Substances.
Conduct ongoing evaluation of processes as it relates to compliance and workflow efficiency for the site.
Conduct FMEA on pharmacy process changes and recommend improving compliance and safety.
Act as a consultant for site processes.
Responsible for data accuracy of the system (e.g., drug images and descriptions).
Liaise with the Quality Assurance team to ensure site compliance with regulatory and corporate quality standards.
Conduct verification of blister packs and vials when required.
Commitment to promoting a workplace of inclusiveness and belonging.

What you will need

Must be a licensed pharmacist in New Brunswick in good standing
5 years experience in pharmacy practice
Central fill or institutional pharmacy experience
Experience in pharmacy incident management and Pharmapod
Training in Root Cause Analysis
Healthwatch experience is an asset
