Huntsman is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor supporting the Performance Products Division located in Conroe, Texas. This position will report to the Maintenance Superintendent.

Job Scope

The Maintenance Supervisor directs and leads the installation, repair, trouble-shooting, and preventative maintenance of mechanical, electrical, and instrument tasks for the facility. Has working knowledge of the pre and post planning and scheduling activities that are preformed through our CMMS Systems. This position will assign and review the work of craftsmen to assure conformance with established methods, policies, and procedures. This position requires knowledge of mechanical/electrical/instrument repair methods, principles, practices, tools, and equipment of the maintenance trades. The Maintenance supervisor will assist with setting goals for the department, measuring team's performance, tracking/reporting on team's productivity and manpower requirements, and providing technical guidance as required. The Maintenance supervisor will assist with the coordinating of daily work required for Huntsman, Nested Contractor, and outside services.

As the Maintenance Supervisor you will:

With minimal supervision and moderate decision-making:

  • Helps process emergency and break-in work orders, coordinates with planning and scheduling to assign crafts to priority work assignments, sets expectations, and directs work assigned to Huntsman and nested/outside contract associates. Evaluates and verifies employee performance by visiting work sites and reviewing work progress and completions to assure repairs are handled efficiently and safely.
  • Supervises the Huntsman mechanical, electrical, and instrument maintenance group through the craft specialist.
  • Reviews and updates Maintenance Plans, Maintenance Items and BOMs in SAP.
  • Maintains records, prepares reports, manages work orders, and composes correspondence related to the work. Coordinates and delivers daily planning board meetings.
  • Identifies staff development needs and ensures craftsmen are provided the support and training they need.
  • Promotes safety and environmental compliance. Assures crafts have all necessary equipment and knowledge to perform the task they are assigned.
  • Coordinates all non-scheduled / emergency work. Responding after hours as needed.
  • Familiar with equipment to diagnose mechanical, electrical, and instrument problems such as vibration analysis tools, oil analysis, thermal imaging, etc.
  • Audits all craft work to ensure tasks are completed in compliance with code or related standards.
  • Daily communication with Process and Mechanical engineering groups.

Other general responsibilities:

  • Follows instructions and performs other duties as may be assigned by supervisor.
  • Participates in and completes company-required training programs.
  • Participates in Environmental, Health, & Safety initiatives as set forth by the company.
  • Presence in the workplace on a regular basis and an ability to work extra hours if needed. If applicable, ability to work after hours may be needed to ensure required staffing capacity to meet daily production objectives.
  • Work collaboratively with team members with different backgrounds and perspectives.
  • Assists other employees in accomplishments of Huntsman company goals.

Required Qualifications:

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

The candidate must have an unrestricted right to work for Huntsman in the United States.

Minimum Qualification

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 12+ years of work experience associated with all maintenance crafts: millwright, electrical, instrument, boiler maker, scaffolds, etc.
  • At least 10 years of experience with a specific maintenance focus: mechanical/electrical/instrument/ boilermaker/welder. Some knowledge of all crafts that preform work at the site level.

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Must have a level of proficiency with Internet, Email, and Microsoft programs.
  • Proficient with SAP and Prometheus Maintenance Modules Planning and scheduling.
  • Proficient in ordering material, contacting / working with vendors, and entering and updating purchase requisitions.
  • Strong mechanical experience.
  • Ability to read prints, P&IDs, and standards.
