Job Title: Facility Maintenance Technician

Education:
- High school graduate or demonstrated equivalent.
- Perform general maintenance, installation, and repair duties and perform a variety of duties relative to facilities maintenance areas of responsibility.
- Ensures all appropriate building standards are maintained at a high level of quality.
- Works independently (i.e. with minimal supervision) as well as within the context of a team.
- Other duties as assigned by the Manager or Supervisor.
Experience:
- 5+ years of experience in General Maintenance or 3+ years with trade school certification.
- Under general supervision, performs tasks that reflect substantial variety and complexity.
- Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
- Reviews service requests for repairs and maintenance, determines the nature of the problem, and executes appropriate solutions.
- Serves as a resource to others in resolving complex problems and issues.
- Coordinates work with outside contractors.
- Assures code and building standards are met.
- Possess attention to detail and excellent follow-up skills.
- Be able to read and understand repair manuals and drawings.
- Have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Be friendly, cooperative, customer service-minded attitude; team player.
- Be able to analyze problems, recommend solutions, and initiate repairs.
- Experienced working with and understanding Work Instructions.
- Apply proper safety practices and follow procedures while performing maintenance tasks.
- Be Safety conscious and have machine guarding and Lockout/Tagout experience.
- Some travel may be required.
- Operate hand and power tools and mechanical equipment effectively and safely, comply with safety requirements, and use appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Requires lifting up to 50 pounds and meeting the physical demands inherent to facility maintenance.
- Requires the ability to read and understand the information contained in a variety of documents or displayed on a computer screen.
- Requires ability to use a variety of office equipment and to operate a computer keyboard to access databases, send/receive email messages, and prepare documents.
- Requires the ability to communicate on the telephone and in one-on-one or group discussions, meetings, and presentations.
- Requires ability to attend meetings throughout the site and potentially travel to other company, customer, and/or vendor locations in the area, as well as some air travel to more distant locations.
- Some tasks will require repetitive wrist movements.
- Coping with demands (stressors) that are associated with the job and/or the work environment so that acceptable levels of performance and overall contribution are maintained.
- Experience working in a Computerized Maintenance Management environment is a plus.
