The Opportunity:

The UCF Student Success and Well-Being Recreation and Wellness Center (RWC) is accepting applications for a Maintenance Technician II. This role performs and conducts maintenance and preventive maintenance for the RWC buildings and equipment. This position may be assigned as the lead person in the absence of the Maintenance Superintendent. This position /classification may be moved at managements' discretion within SSWB division to a commensurate level position as determined by the VP of SDES of his/her designee.

This is an Auxiliary-funded position. Employment is subject to availability of funding and may cease at the time funding for this employment is depleted.

Responsibilities:

  • Assists the Maintenance Superintendent with ordering of supplies and equipment.

  • Conducts preventative maintenance programs for building and equipment.

  • Takes care of painting and lining fields for Intramural and Sport Club programs and special events.

  • Takes care of repairing all fences around all sport fields.

  • Maintains heating and air conditioning equipment.

  • Maintains, repairs, or replaces various parts and equipment of the plumbing system.

  • Installs and maintains electric motors, generators, and related electrical and mechanical components of the electrical and mechanical systems of the building.

  • Repair and/or refinish wall, floor, windows, and ceilings as necessary.

  • Provides technical support for facilities programming.

  • Performs related work as required and assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Completion of an approved apprenticeship program for multiple trades and 3 years of relevant experience; or a high school diploma and 3 years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219. Click here for more information

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of building mechanical, plumbing, and electrical systems

  • Able to read building plans and schematics

  • Knowledge of outside grounds and field painting

  • Supervisory skills

  • Knowledge of pools (Certified Pool Operator)

  • Certified First Aid/CPR/AED
