The Opportunity:

Avantor is looking for a Senior Maintenance Technician to install, maintain, and repair Distribution Center equipment in addition to various other duties such as answering work requests and ensuring satisfactory performance of all mechanical systems within the site.

The Sr. Maintenance Technician will utilize computerized maintenance management system (FMX) to schedule, perform and document work in a timely and effective manner and escalates issues as needed.

This full time role will be based out of our Bridgeport, NJ office.

Work Schedule: 10am-6:30pm, M-F (Overtime on weekends as needed)

What we're looking for:

• Education:
• High School diploma or equivalent degree.
• Experience:
• 3+ years industrial maintenance experience to include: electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic and conveyor systems.
• Experience with industrial maintenance specializing in electronic technology (e.g. troubleshooting and repairing automated equipment) is preferred.
• HVAC systems experience preferred.
• Additional Qualifications:
• Ability to lift and move boxes, tools and equipment weighing 50+ lbs, and the ability to stand for extended periods of time, as well as bend, stoop, crawl, stretch, climb, and lift repeatedly.
• Familiarity with continuous improvement projects.
• Strong computer skills (MS Suite) and experience using maintenance software.
• Strong communication skills.

How you will thrive and create an impact:

• Maintain multiple warehouse systems and heating and cooling equipment.
• Schedule and perform maintenance or general carpentry on items such as doors, floors, docks, overhead doors, roof downspouts, product racks, material handling equipment, etc.
• Maintain accountability for spare parts and tools and reorder as needed.
• Complete and maintain required reports when maintenance tasks and repairs are concluded.
• Answer security alarm calls as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
