The Electromechanical Maintenance Technician for Shearers Foods, Snack Manufacturing, maintains the efficiency of machinery and equipment in a continuous improvement-based environment, while also creating and maintaining a safe work environment. Position is responsible for setting up, installing, repairing, and maintaining production/manufacturing equipment and machinery. Inspects equipment for proper functioning and performs preventative maintenance duties per manufacturer's specifications. Diagnoses equipment malfunctions and makes repairs or adjustments as needed.
Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesThe Maintenance Technician position is accountable for the efficient installation, repair, and maintenance of machinery and equipment. • Performs highly diversified duties to install and maintain production machines and the plant facility’s equipment.• Performs scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service.• Provides emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment. • Performs simple machinist duties and responsibilities.• Performs mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting, and repair of production machines.• Reads and interprets equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.• Diagnoses problems, replaces or repairs parts, tests, and adjusts.• Performs regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment, and plant facilities.• Performs a variety of plumbing maintenance and carpentry functions.• Uses a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters, and material handling equipment in performing duties.• Detects faulty operations and defective material; reports those and any unusual situations to proper supervision.• Complies with safety regulations and maintains clean and orderly work areas.

Position Summary
KAG Fleet Mechanics are required to safely and accurately perform general property and vehicle maintenance & repair duties in and around the shop operations in a fast-paced environment. Knowledge and understanding basic, intermediate, and advanced preventative maintenance (PM) and repair techniques of all types of coded Cargo Tank Trailer inspections, testing and compliance related to the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) regulations is required and ASME.
Essential Functions of a Fleet Mechanic
• Safely perform all repairs, testing & inspections necessary in a shop environment to all company owned equipment including tractors, trailers, etc.
• Adherence to company PM schedule and safe execution of all inspections and testing.
• Assist other technicians in performing preventive/repair of facilities and equipment to include trucks, tractors, and trailers.
• Create and complete work order entries. Maintain work order and vehicle maintenance records.
• Conduct all levels of preventive maintenance functions such as regular servicing of vehicles including oil changes, and equipment inspections.
• Electrical diagnostics, repair and replacement.
• Assist with the physical parts inventory, receiving and proper charge out of parts to work orders.
• Learn and become proficient utilizing the company's maintenance software program to create and complete work orders.
Qualifications
Qualifications.
• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 5-years of experience in heavy-duty vehicle maintenance, repair & compliance
• Verifiable proof of 3-year tank testing (HM) inspector experience
• Air brake certification in compliance with FMCSR 396.25
• Certified as a (DOT) commercial motor vehicle inspector in compliance with FMCSR's
• Willing to obtain American Welding Society (AWS) certification.
• Has been signing test forms as the Registered Inspector for at least 3 years.
• Valid driver's license
• Willing to attend and complete KAG Function Specific Training Course
• Basic computer knowledge
• Basic set of technician tools - in accordance with KAG list
• Become qualified as necessary with appropriate certifications to perform new technology evaluations, diagnosis and repairs
Preferred Qualifications:
• Prior maintenance, testing of 306/406/307/407 Tank trailers.
• Prior maintenance and installation of over fill Systems for bottom loading.
