Description

Our client is a well established steel processor. They have an immediate need for a second shift maintenance technician. \n \nSummary \n Installs, maintains, and repairs machinery, equipment, physical structures, and pipe and electrical systems by performing the following duties. \n \nEssential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.\n · Perform maintenance service and repairs in the areas of plumbing, carpentry, painting, plastering, machine servicing, electrical and vehicle servicing. \n · Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. \n · Works under immediate supervision. \n · Support for all plant machines and tooling as far as breakdowns, damages, troubleshooting, etc. \n · Ensure that safety procedures are properly followed in all aspects of maintenance in the operation. \n · Organize maintenance area - 5S all parts including spare parts \n · Maintain cleanliness of area to ensure safety and appearance of plant. \n · Report any equipment abuse to Assistant Production Manager. \n · Send by email daily report to Assistant Production Manager for maintenance items to address \n · Read Daily Maintenance email from prior shift(s). \n · Read the shift communication emails from all Supervisors concerning any maintenance activity from prior shift. \n · Communicate to Assistant Production Manager all details needed of the parts used daily for the item can be reordered. \n · Review Maintenance Connect daily and close out completed jobs daily in Maintenance Connection including “PM’s” \n · Maintain a spare parts list in Maintenance Connection. \n · Bring packing slips to Assistant Production Manager in a timely matter to ensure invoice is recorded in the correct month. \n · Follow lockout/tagout procedures. \n · Perform preventive and predictive maintenance according to schedule. \n · Follow Hazardous Chemicals policies. \n · Safely and properly operate hand tools. \n · Safely and properly operate power tools. \n · Safely and properly operate manufacturing machinery. \n · Safely and properly operate forklifts. \n · Constructs, maintains, and tests electrical systems and components. \n · Diagnose mechanical and maintenance problems. \n · Fabricate item to ‘loose’ specs. \n · Design/engineer to ‘strict’ specs. \n · Rely on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform duties. \n \nSupervisory Responsibilities\n \n No supervisory responsibilities. \n \nEducation and/or Experience\n \n High school diploma or equivalent; 3 years maintenance experience. \n \nComputer Skills\n \n To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of company software. \n \n Additional Skills \n \n Must pass maintenance test. \n Complete an apprenticeship and/or formal training. \n Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices and procedures. \n Ability to understand mechanical prints and symbols. \n Ability to understand electrical prints and symbols. \n Ability to repair mechanical devices. \n Ability to repair electrical devices. \n Ability to isolate electronic problems from other components in a system. \n Ability to fabricate item to ‘loose’ specs. \n Ability to design/engineer to ‘strict’ specs. \n \n
