Maintenance Technician

Donaldson Company Frankfort Plant

3rd shift

Work Hours: Monday-Friday 10:30 p.m. - 6:30 a.m.

Some Weekend Hours Required

Pay Range $28.49 - $34.37 depending on experience

Shift differential applies

Purpose: To add value to the company by functioning in a multi-skill work environment performing a variety of maintenance related functions. Position primarily serves summarily all production operations.

Essential Functions:

  • Arc and gas welding, cutting, brazing, silver and soft soldering
  • Interpret blueprints and schematics (electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and piping) for machines and buildings
  • Troubleshoot electrical A/C and D/C circuits using electrical metering equipment
  • Troubleshoot hydraulic systems
  • Troubleshoot pneumatic systems
  • Use basic shop tools such as lathes, mills, drill presses, saws, grinders, etc.
  • Install and relocate equipment
  • Maintain preventative maintenance programs in assigned areas
  • Repair production equipment with minimal interruption to production
  • Locate and help maintain maintenance inventory through the use of a computerized inventory system
  • Maintain buildings and grounds as needed
  • Inspect, dismantle, service, reassemble, test and adjust equipment of all types for safe and proper operation. Notify Maintenance Systems Administrator of any malfunctioning equipment or machine deficiencies
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work area, and take proper care of tools and equipment
  • Maintain a positive working relationship with all Donaldson employees
  • Provide positive feedback for corrective action plans to improve equipment reliability
  • Comply with all DOT, HAZMAT and environmental policies and procedures
  • Use all designated Personal Protective Equipment as required

Qualifications: A combination of education and experience, generally acquired through the attainment of a high school diploma, or equivalent plus a minimum of two years of trade school or qualified work experience.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to demonstrate ability to:

  • Read blueprints and schematics
  • Understand pumps and valves and their application
  • Understand refrigeration, air conditioning, heating and ventilation equipment
  • Possess confidence in his/her 'hands-on' trouble shooting ability
  • Understand P.L.C. concepts
  • Exhibit mechanical aptitude
  • Exhibit knowledge of industrial electric symbols and line diagrams, control logic-line diagrams, AC/DC motors, motor starters and motor controllers
  • Plan, implement, and finalize assigned projects with minimal supervision
  • Continue education as it applies to technical job requirements
  • Exhibit knowledge of OSHA standards
  • Retain knowledge of the department of operation
  • Make sound decisions
