General Information:

James Madison University's Facilities Management is currently hiring for HVAC Repair/ Preventative Maintenance. This position will assist with repairs and maintenance of all HVAC and related equipment on campus.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Duties include but are not limited to:

Keeps current with EPA requirements on proper refrigerant usage

Assists with seasonal maintenance of HVAC systems to provide reliable and efficient operation

Works safely including reporting and correcting any safety issues

Manages jobs, ordering needed parts and materials for jobs

Keeps tools and test equipment in good working condition

Maintains truck and helps with shop housekeeping measures

Follows written and verbal instructions and provides clear communication with customers, supervisors, and associates

Provides input for the replacement of HVAC and related systems

Overtime may be required as needed to provide service to HVAC and refrigeration systems that are vital to the operation of the University

Requires rotating on-call responsibilities

Employee may be required to work another shift or perform other duties as assigned

May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in a position consistent with skill set in case of emergency

Qualifications:

Required:

Must possess working knowledge of HVAC and related equipment

Ability to use various test instruments and troubleshoot and repair HVAC and related equipment

EPA608- EPA Section 608 Certification

Additional Considerations:
EPA type II refrigerant usage certification or the ability to obtain
