Description

The IT Solutions Specialist is responsible for modifying and developing applications utilized by the Clinic including customizing vendor applications or internal web applications. Responsible for application debugging, customization documentation, modifying underlying database objects including the analysis of change request or new development requests, and supporting custom Clinic applications and vendor applications.

Principal Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support for Clinic applications and databases, including off hour support and travel as required.
  • Manage assigned projects and tasks, including workflow, scheduling, training and documentation.
  • Develop applications and processes in Microsoft 365 including the MS Power Platform and SharePoint Online.
  • Develop new web applications and associated SQL databases.
  • Perform application debugging for error and customization requests.
  • Prepare technical documentation on all code changes and application instructions.
  • Analyze and design small applications based on specifications.
  • Retrofit customizations made to application and database objects.
  • Integrate existing web applications into an architectural framework for web applications.
  • Develop database structure and objects for internal web applications including tables, views, stored procedures and functions.
  • Develop and modify SSRS and SSIS packages as requested.
  • Evaluate existing and future technologies and recommend replacement or usage.
  • Develop policies and standard IT operating procedures for development.
  • Provide technical/functional support training to other team members as needed.
  • Develop system plans and strategies for application integration and work in tandem with project teams to define proper integration solutions.
  • Comply with the Springfield Clinic incident reporting policy and procedures.
  • Adhere to all OSHA and Springfield Clinic training & accomplishments as required per policy.
  • Provide excellent customer service and adhere to SC Way customer service philosophy.
  • Perform other job duties as assigned.

Education/Experience

  • Four (4) year college degree in computer science, business systems, or related discipline or four years equivalent work experience in business systems, information technology, software development, or related fields.
  • Two (2) years of experience developing and customizing SharePoint objects including web parts, InfoPath forms, workflows, pages, branding and web services.
  • Two (2) years of experience developing and modifying web applications using Visual Studio, VB, C#, MVC Framework, and JavaScript libraries (i.e. jQuery).
  • Two (2) years of experience within .NET Framework desktop application development.
  • Two (2) years of experience upgrading small to medium sized applications to new framework versions and taking part in enterprise application upgrades.
  • Two (2) years of experience with server/application environments in order to facilitate design/implementation, improvement or troubleshooting within supported technologies at the Clinic, including deploying and maintaining sites in IIS, Active Directory, and other Microsoft server applications.
  • Two (2) years of experience working with server operating systems (i.e. MS Server 2008, 2012, 2019).
  • Two (2) years of experience developing SQL database objects and usage including T-SQL query development, writing and maintaining stored procedures, functions, tables, views and indexes.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Above average communication skills, both verbal and written with proven ability to translate business needs into application solutions.
  • Ability to work in a collaborative manner with technical and non-technical personnel is essential.
  • Available for evening and weekend on-call support as needed.
  • Ability to translate non-technical user requirements into technical requirements that align with the Clinic business needs.
  • General knowledge of the healthcare industry.
  • Proficient in the software development lifecycle, functional design, and object-oriented design.
  • Demonstrate proficient knowledge and experience in web-based application development tools, preferably Microsoft 365 Power Platform, .NET Framework, , HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript related frameworks (i.e. Vue, Angular), PowerShell, and VBScript.

Working Environment

  • Operates in a professional office environment.
  • Routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
