How do we make an impact?

Unity Lab Services provides a single source for integrated lab service, support, and supply management. Our customized service offerings and world-class service experts have the flexibility and experience to uniquely address our customer's laboratory's business needs.

What will you do?

  • Daily pickup of used glassware from labs, provide glass washing and sterilization services.
  • Provide a constant inventory of clean, sterile labware in laboratory cabinets.
  • Operation of industrial glassware washers, dryers, and sterilizers.
  • Maintain good housekeeping in glass wash areas at all times.
  • Interact and communicate daily with the team and scientific staff.
  • Follow all glassware processing procedures and be flexible to fast-paced changing priorities.
  • Perform labware inspections for cracks, breaks, and scratches, contacting the Supervisor/Manager/Team Lead with all pertinent information for labware replacement.
  • Follow all customer SOPs and safety guidelines as required.
  • Collect monthly data for metrics reporting.
  • Drive a Process Improvement culture

How will you get here?

Education:

High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelors degree in a related field preferred, or a combination of education and experience that demonstrates the required skills.

Experience:

  • 0 to 1 year of dynamic experience preferred.
  • Detailed, resourceful, and promotes a positive team environment.
  • Must possess strong written and communication skills to clearly express ideas, share information with employees, and communicate well with customers and various management levels of the organization.
  • Capable of good judgment and decision-making skills in dealing with a variety of routine and non-routine issues.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, and desire to deliver excellent customer service. This includes maintaining a professional appearance and demeanor in all interactions and upholding Thermo Fisher Scientific's values.
  • Demonstrates computer proficiency and possesses intermediate skills in Microsoft Office suite of software.
  • Uses interpersonal skills to multi-task and meet due dates as needed.

Physical Requirements:

  • May be required to work independently at a customer site.
  • Works primarily at customer locations and lab environments
  • Extensive walking/standing for 60-70% of the day.
  • Able to lift, push, and pull 30-40 pounds consistently.
  • Depending on the area of the building, personal protective equipment (PPE) may be worn including lab coats, hairnets, and safety gloves.
  • Ability to work the hours required to get the job completed

Compensation and Benefits:

The hourly pay range estimated for this position based in California is $16.00-$23.00.

This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results following company policy. We offer a comprehensive Total Rewards package that our U.S. colleagues and their families can count on, which includes:
