SPEECH-LANGUAGE PATHOLOGY ASSISTANT/ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR
DIVISION OF COMMUNICATION SCIENCES AND DISORDERS
WEST VIRGINIA UNIVERSITY SCHOOL OF MEDICINE


The Department of Human Performance, Division of Communication Sciences and Disorders at West Virginia University (WVU) is seeking a full-time, non-tenure track (12-month) Assistant or Associate Professor of Speech-Language Pathology to contribute to a well-established program with a tradition of excellence in teaching, scholarship, and service. The successful candidate will contribute to the mission of WVU and the program in Communication Sciences and Disorders housed within the School of Medicine.


The successful candidate will provide high-quality academic instruction within the undergraduate Communication Sciences and Disorders and Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology programs and clinical services in the WVU Speech, Language, and Hearing Clinic to a diverse population. Individuals with at least three years of clinical experience and experience with dysphagia, acquired language and cognitive disorders, acquired motor speech disorders, and/or voice are encouraged to apply. Active engagement in Division, University, and professional service activities is also expected including participation in Division and committee meetings as well as recruitment and review of applicants to the master's in speech-language pathology programs.

Qualifications

Applicants must meet the following criteria for consideration:



  • West Virginia Speech-Language Pathology license or eligible for a West Virginia Speech-Language Pathology license;

  • Current ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence;

  • A minimum of three (3) years of clinical experience as a speech language pathologist;

  • An earned doctoral degree (i.e., Ph.D. or Ed.D.) or clinical Doctorate in Speech-Language Pathology.

  • A minimum of three years of experience in clinical supervision and/or experience with academic instruction.


All qualifications must be met by the time of the appointment.
