We are seeking a General Insurance Principal to join our Insurance and Longevity Consulting team. Our Insurance and Longevity Consulting (ILC) Team provides consultancy services to a range of insurance and non-insurance clients. Our clients range from large multinationals and small niche insurers to regulators and the Actuarial Profession, based across a range of territories.

As part of our strategy for the next five years, we are looking to recruit an experienced actuary who can drive forward the General Insurance teams growth in the Lloyds market. The role will focus on developing and promoting our reserving and analytics proposition in the Lloyds market, building on the success that we have had in this space. The role will have a particular focus on Lloyds Statement of Actuarial Opinion (SAO) work, pricing and underwriting analytics as well as process transformation work.

To be considered, you will need to be a qualified actuary with strong reserving experience within the Lloyds market. You will need to hold a practising certificate for non-life with Lloyds business. Some experience in advanced analytics would be advantageous.

Other attributes we are looking for:

  • A team leader, with the ability and confidence to liaise and communicate with stakeholders both internally and externally as well as with regulators.
  • Detail-oriented, yet able to understand and effectively communicate key results to both actuaries and non-actuaries.
  • Familiar with the required regulations for reserving under Lloyds.
  • Able to detect and keep up with the latest trends and development in the market.
  • Able to see the bigger picture and implement the strategy of the team.
  • Confident in speaking at internal and external events.
  • Enjoy building their personal brand by networking or producing marketing materials.
  • Have a broad network of contacts within the London Market and is known in the market.
  • Confident in managing both your own work and that of others.
  • Experience of line managing others.
  • Able to take a hands-on approach and is not afraid of getting your hands dirty.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Highly organised, you have the ability to work on multiple clients and tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Able to drive and lead multiple engagements.
  • Comfortable at solving novel and complex problems.
