This position is part of a newly formed sub-team within Wealth Credit Services (WCS) – SBL Sales & Product. 

The role manages Advisor, Banker, and Client-facing support for Wealth Credit Services’ Securities Based Lending product primarily focused on supporting Citizens Private Wealth (CPW) and Citizens Private Bank (PB). The Lending Specialist (LS) role will lead a growing team that provides CPW and PB SBL sales support application processes across multiple business lines.  Investment Team acquisition opportunities (“lift-outs”) and related activities will be a critical focus for this group as Wealth Management looks to ensure smooth transitions for this important strategy.  Specifically, the position will coordinate Securities Based Lending (SBL) loan originations for the new Wealth Manager teams joining CPW.  The LS will work with the Advisor, Transition Associate, and client to explain and manage the SBL application process. The LS will manage SBL applications ensuring completeness/accuracy of application packages prior to submission to WCS Operations and Underwriting.

The position also works closely with the broader Wealth Credit Services Leadership team and reports to the Securities Based Lending Product Platform Manager, who leads the product strategy for CPW and PB. Additionally, the role will be expected to learn all relevant downstream processes and best practices related to SBL originations and work closely with WCS Operations and Underwriting on building efficiencies and best practices for SBL originations.

Responsibilities

Lift-Out (SBL transition) Management

  • Lead team and efforts to manage and coordinate advisor lift-outs pertaining to securities based lending transactions
  • Review high-level SBL portfolio data prior to advisor team arrival 
  • Set expectations with new advisor team and review SBL processes upon arrival
  • Lead new team training and SBL product awareness for new joiners
  • Act as SBL center point of contact for new Advisor team and clients transitioning to Citizens
  • Demonstrate expertise in answering questions about the SBL product and the origination process, continuously improve the operational process, and develop client and/or Advisor facing materials as need to ensure high level of internal/external client satisfaction with transition
  • Once commitment to move to Citizens is secured, work with Advisor and client to take SBL application, and compile all required data and documents
  • Build strong partnership with new advisors, transition team, broader private wealth group, the private bank, and internal partners within WCS.
  • Develop and implement a lift-out reporting process aimed at providing constant transparency into transition progress
  • Continuously work to improve the lift-out process for SBLs

SBL Sales Lead (CPW/PB)

  • Work with existing Private Wealth teams and advisors to position SBL as a viable lending option
  • Partner with advisors as their lending specialist making it easy to sell SBLs and take applications
  • Serve as the center point of contact for all client related SBL inquiries for CPW and CWM
  • Assist with guiding clients for transaction requests (e.g., advance, paydown, collateral release) as required
  • Conduct regular training and product awareness sessions with Citizens Private Wealth and Citizens Private Bank colleagues to ensure best practices are maintained

SBL Product and Process Improvement

  • Help develop and implement the lending specialist component of WCS
  • Assist product and platform manager with enhancements
  • Drive SBL documents and SharePoint site improvements as needed
  • Solicit feedback from the field to understand pain points and continuously work to improve the lending specialist aspect and overall product
  • Partner closely with Underwriting and Operations teams to identify improvement opportunities and streamline processes

  • Skilled at maintaining good communication across business unit and broader organization. 
  • Comprehensive verbal and written communication skills, strong organizational skills, customer service skills, developed influencing and negotiation skills, experienced in managing the day to day and annual performance and developmental activities for direct and indirect reports from entry to expert level colleagues.
  • Word, Excel, Power Point, spread sheet modeling, and presentation development and delivery skills. Capable of developing advanced knowledge of different financial modeling systems and ability to coach others on use of internal systems.
  • Ability to work under pressure with efficiency and accuracy 
  • Ability to plan and prioritize workload 

Experience

Minimum Required: 

  • 5 years experience in: commercial/consumer lending and operations (preferably Private Bank-type experience); understanding and applying credit policy, credit monitoring and risk administration practices. 

Preferred:

  • Participation in formal bank or other credit training curriculum 
  • Exhibits strong level of knowledge of commercial sales processes, commercial/consumer products, credit, risk, documentation and administration practices and processes.
  • Skilled at developing and implementing both strategic and tactical solutions and systems in support of portfolio administration and business unit goals and objectives

Hours & Work Schedule

  • Hours per Week: 40
  • Work Schedule: M-F

Pay Transparency 

The salary range for this position is $107,000 - $160,000 per year, plus an opportunity to earn an annual discretionary bonus. Actual pay is based on various factors including but not limited to the work location, and relevant skills and experience.
