Overview


Are you looking for an opportunity to intern at a great organization this summer? Kamatics Corporation in Bloomfield, CT is looking for several interns in a variety of disciplines to join their team to experience an environment enriched with collaboration and learning. The internship will include a strong on-boarding program, provide opportunities for professional growth with challenging assignments, an opportunity to give back to the community with a volunteer day, and will encourage interns to participate in a collaborative project with their intern peers.

Individuals that are motivated, and dependable seeking to work in a fast-paced environment, will be an ideal fit for Kamatics. The internship is intended for the summer months and will last approximately 10 to 12 weeks, working 40 hours a week Monday through Friday. Work hours may be flexible.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities


  • Support the HR team with administrative responsibilities, including but not limited to: data entry into HR systems, maintaining reports, creating status change forms, maintenance of confidential employee files, and project-based assignments as needed.
  • Assist with recruiting activities.
  • Coordinate new hire orientation, including preparation of new hire packets, coordination of training, and new hire orientation presentation.
  • Assist with employee recognition and engagement events and programs.
  • Provide a high level of service to all internal and external customers.
  • Contribute to positive teamwork environment.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment. Follow safety and environmental procedures and regulations. Report safety incidents to supervisor.
  • Make recommendations for improvements to work processes and procedures. Contribute to 5S programs in work area.

Qualifications


Education:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Pursuing a Bachelors degree in Business Management, Human Resources Management, or other related field.

Experience:

  • Entry level position. Related internships or co-ops are a plus.
  • Proficient in MS Office
  • 6 months office experience preferred

Physical Requirements: Office environment with the occasional exposure to the shop floor with aerospace manufacturing machinery and chemicals, along with the ability to lift light parts, up to 20 pounds. The ability to use personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, hearing protection and steel-toed shoes may be required when on the shop floor. The ability to walk distances including the use of stairs is also desired.
