As a Journeyman Marine Auxiliary Engineer you will:
- Work within the Maritime Lifecycle Readiness Division to provide engineering support to the United States Coast Guard - Ship Design Team Headquarters DC.

A week in the life of a Journeyman Marine Auxiliary Engineer:
- Assist in design, development, and evaluation of the operation of Auxiliary marine systems, ship machinery, and related equipment, such as HM&E, HVAC&R, piping systems, etc
- Support the US Coast Guard reviewing third party design modifications and improvements to mechanical systems and components.
- Perform design reviews, evaluating constructability, helping resolve technical issues, and managing information generated through the design and construction phases.
- Conduct analyses of various auxiliary systems, lead development of technical data packages and reviews.
- Conduct trade studies regarding auxiliary system configuration.
- Conduct marine engineering analysis.
- Create graphical representations of structures and systems.
- Inspect auxiliary equipment or systems.
- Assist in research of advanced engineering designs or applications.
- Prepare technical reports for internal use.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
- Ability to obtain a secret clearance
At least 5+ years of experience:
- Progressively responsible experience in marine specific fields (i.e. auxiliary systems, piping systems, fluids and hydraulics)
- Working with Microsoft Office suite
- Experience with Auto-CAD
- Familiarity with ABS, NVR, and commercial ship design rules and regulations.

Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors permitted by law.
