Hybrid work arrangement (3 days in the office/2 days remote). Location is flexible within the Seacoast footprint in Florida.

The Business Architect will play a pivotal role in guiding the enterprise through transformation and optimization initiatives, supporting the formulation of business strategy, outcomes and capabilities.

The business architect's scope of activities includes helping Seacoast Bank achieve targeted business outcomes related to growing revenue, optimizing costs and mitigating risks.

Your contributions will enrich the corporate architecture repository through the development of business architecture deliverables to help business leaders identify and make business and IT investment decisions. Deliverables include, but are not limited to, business outcome statements, strategy on a page, scenario plans, business capability models, value-streams maps, business process models, ecosystems models, customer and user profiles, journey maps, human-centric design and investment roadmaps.

You will work closely with key business stakeholders to identify business and technology innovation opportunities that enable and drive business strategy.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provides Business Architecture direction, guidance, and definition to effectively support business strategy.
  • Engages key business stakeholders to identify business and technology innovation opportunities that enable and drive business strategy.
  • Collaborate with business leaders (including executive leadership), technology teams, and other stakeholders to understand business needs and priorities.
  • Acts as a subject matter expert in the development of Business Architecture framework development, tool suite selection and design, and methodology development.
  • Document current and future state business capability roadmaps, requirements, processes, and technology needs aligned with the bank's strategic objectives and priorities.
  • Uses actionable and diagnostic deliverables to help the business and IT leaders make informed investment decisions.
  • Assist in alignment of the business and IT.
  • Develop/refine Business Architecture artifacts/templates and create business capability roadmaps that span a 3- to 5- year time horizon; work with the business to integrate capability planning and roadmaps into their strategic planning and project implementations.
  • Helps business stakeholders build effective communication and targeted messaging to support transformation objectives, along with ongoing upkeep and upgrades of existing technologies and platforms.
  • Engage with the Enterprise, Solution, and Domain Architects to assist with translating business capabilities to technical designs; collaborates closely with IT Architects to design optimal technical solutions to meet business needs while aligning with IT strategies.
  • Uses the organization's existing business and operating model as the starting point for innovation; for example, by using new technologies to enable a business capability.
  • Seeks ways to drive adoption of new technology and reuse existing technology for enabling business capabilities, value streams and business processes.
  • Identify and mitigate risks associated with business architecture decisions, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Guide application, systems and related IT change management, incident and release management utilizing ITIL Framework.
  • Gathers and validates business and technology requirements to establish scope and parameters of requirements and define project impact, outcome criteria, and metrics.
  • Collaborates with internal and external partners to ensure customer needs are met by reviewing requirements, status updates and associated issues; manage customer relationships and expectations by developing a communication process to keep others up-to-date on project results
  • Helps develop a governance plan for ensuring that business architecture is a primary input to the development of other EA viewpoints such as solutions, information and technical architecture.
  • Assist with development of the EA governance and assurance process to identify business, information, and solution architecture issues at the front end of the project life cycle, and with product managers and product owners at the different stages of the iterative product lifecycle.
  • Develops ecosystem and business capability models, value stream and customer journey maps to guide product teams in developing their minimum marketable and minimum viable products, value propositions and drive business outcomes.
  • Constructs business capabilities models, value stream models, business process models, customer journey maps, and other critical and relevant business architecture deliverables to help product managers and product owners make investment and change decisions in the product life cycle.
  • Coordinates and conducts user training sessions; develops and updates user documentation, written instructions, job aids, training guides, manuals and materials for users and applications meets with users to provide information regarding system changes and enhancements and to address any questions or issues.
  • Adheres to Seacoast Bank's code of conduct.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, information systems or related discipline, or equivalent and extensive related project experience; M.B.A. preferred.
  • Proven track record of at least 8 years in business architecture, enterprise architecture, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of banking or financial services and products domain experience. Comparable domain experience will also be considered.
  • 5+ years of leadership responsibility managing teams, influencing senior-level management and stakeholders; banking services or other regulated industry preferred.
  • Deep understanding of banking products, processes, and operations, with the ability to translate business needs into technology solutions.
  • Experience with credit and commercial loan processes, understanding of the nCino platform desired.
  • Strong strategic planning and problem-solving skills, with the ability to align business and technology strategies to achieve organizational goals.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience, with the ability to influence and collaborate with cross-functional teams and senior stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate complex concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with the ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.
  • Knowledge of software development life cycle (SDLC), architecture frameworks, design patterns, and programming concepts
  • Experience developing and monitoring delivery of efficient and effective solutions to diverse and complex business problems.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with changing priorities.
  • Large enterprise experience in a matrixed environment desired.
  • Strategic and outcome-based approach.
