Position Title: Project Manager and Business Data Analyst

 Reports To: Assistant Director of Information Technology

Group: Exempt – Administration

Summary:

Manages the project portfolio of the SSO, in alignment with the strategic plan, working with stakeholders from all departments to improve project performance by implementing project management best practices. Additionally, executing the IT data strategy, integrating several sources of data into the AMS, creating data visualizations and presenting insights gleaned from data to guide business, marketing, membership and education decision making.

Duties and Responsibilities:

 Project Management

  • Develop project plans, including scope, KPIs, budget, and schedule, in collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Establish and maintain project timelines and milestones, tracking progress and ensuring that goals or objectives of the project are accomplished within the prescribed time frame and budget
  • Coordinate staff resources and create project templates to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Work to match SSO’s project portfolio to the strategic plan and create project lifecycle process.
  • Serves as a point of contact for issues that arise during project planning, development, deployment, and operational life cycle.

Data Analysis

  • Manages and maintains the accuracy and integrity of membership data and records to ensure correctness and consistency while adhering to applicable data privacy requirements.
  • Facilitates business intelligence by gathering end-user data requirements and creating reports, dashboards, and visual metrics to satisfy business needs.
  • Creates queries of membership database for reports and other needs.
  • Works with appropriate membership, education, and marketing staff to unite data sources and identify areas of needed business process improvement.
  • Works with membership staff to develop ways to increase the collection of member demographic information and with the marketing team to leverage data for segmenting and analysis.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum bachelor’s degree in related area strongly preferred; Any combination of education and experience that demonstrates the knowledge and ability to perform the work.
  • PMP credential a plus, but not required.
  • Experiences with databases (SQL, Access, or similar), integrations and data visualization.
  • A self-starter and comfortable working in a highly entrepreneurial organization.
  • Ability to work with others effectively.
  • The ability to effectively multi-task and work independently.
  • Ability to maintain composure under pressure and must represent SSO in a professional manner.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Project Management software such as Microsoft Project or Planner.
  • Familiarity with Power BI or Tableu, and Excel.
