Certified Medical Assistant - Urbandale Urgent Care

Shifts: Tuesdays/Thursdays/Fridays 8am-8pm & one weekend a month

**$5,000.00 Sign-on Bonus for external candidates!

Shift differential for evening & weekend hours.

Urbandale Urgent Care is seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong clinical background, excellent communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. As a CMA in our urgent care clinic, you will support healthcare providers and deliver efficient, high-quality care to patients of all ages.

Key Responsibilities:
Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations, treatments, and procedures.
Obtain and record patient medical histories, vital signs, and other relevant information.
Administer medications and vaccines as directed by healthcare providers.
Perform basic laboratory tests and prepare specimens for laboratory testing.
Conduct routine diagnostic tests such as EKGs and vision screenings.
Provide patient education on health conditions, medications, and preventive care.
Ensure patient privacy and confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
Participate in quality improvement initiatives and ongoing professional development.

• Current Certification as a Medical Assistant.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and decision-making skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Proficiency in using electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
