Driver DESCRIPTION:

The Driver will make local deliveries within the Phoenix Area using a company box truck. This position will be responsible for proper handling of company product ensuring protection from damage, mishandling, etc., delivery to customer and/or vendor sites and making certain the necessary documentation is signed off and completed during the delivery process. When not making delivery runs, this position will be responsible for shipping/receiving tasks and any related material handling.

Driver ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

• Responsible for shipping, receiving, pick-up and deliveries to and from suppliers and customers
• Ensure signatures are obtained during hand-off of deliveries
• Secure the cargo and assist with the loading and unloading of cargo
• Inspect the delivery truck daily and inform the Lead or department Supervisor of upcoming or needed maintenance
• Perform shipping and receiving duties as assigned by Supervisor
• Comply with applicable environmental, health and safety laws and regulations, Company policy and accepted safe work practices

Driver RECOMMENDED CERTIFICATES, LICENSES AND REGISTRATIONS:

• Current certification for forklift operation

Driver EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or 4 years’ experience
• Minimum 10 years of experience as a Class C delivery driver
• Must have a current/valid drivers’ license and clean driving record
• Ability to operate a forklift
• Excellent organization and time management skills
• Must be 25 years or older

Driver PHYSICAL DEMANDS WHILE PERFORMING THE JOB:

• Sitting for long periods of time. Frequently standing, walking, pushing, pulling, stooping, kneeling, or crouching, use hands to finger, handle, or feel parts and cargo; reach with hands and arms; and talk and/or hear instructions.
• Frequently lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
• Close vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Driver WORKING ENVIRONMENT OF THE JOB:

• Moderate noise levels in shipping/receiving environment.
• Frequent work in light to heavy traffic.
