Overview

The Loan Protection Programs (LPP) department manages Navy Federal's Guaranteed Asset Protection (GAP) product. We assist members with adding the product to their consumer loan and file claims for members involved in a total loss accident. Our claim processors contact insurance companies to obtain the necessary paperwork, calculate the GAP amount, submit claims for payment, manage the claim documentation, and assist members over the phone.

Responsibilities

• Provide support to assigned department; may work on small projects
• Review Guaranteed Asset Protection Services Application (NFCU 298A) for completeness and accuracy to determine if additional information is needed.
• Assign the NFCU 298A to specific queues in different operating systems
• Review and place GAP claim documents in member folder
• Create and send letters to members in reference to incorrect NFCU 298A's
• Support business strategy and initiatives within the business unit and/or across the organization
• Assist and collaborate with various levels of staff to accomplish tasks/assignments
• Perform research and analysis; may include quantitative and/or qualitative analysis
• Maintain professionalism in all interactions, placing member service as priority
• Provide comprehensive day-to-day operational support
• Provide support in functional areas of the credit union
• May provide direct member service in high volume situations
• Process and update data in automated systems; may generate and analyze reports
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Must be pursuing a degree from an accredited college/university
• Effective interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
• Effective research, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Effective skill maintaining accuracy with attention to detail and meeting deadlines
• Ability to exercise initiative and good judgment to make sound decisions
• Ability to adapt to new technologies

• Ability to work independently and in a team environment
