Overview









The Technical Writer is responsible for ensuring the clarity and accuracy of our end user documentation including new feature documentation, updates to documentation reflecting changes to current features functionality, and user installation processes. Operating within a Scrum Agile framework, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality documentation that meets the needs of our users.

Salary Range: $69,100 - $104,600 We offer a competitive total rewards package at the Center for Internet Security:
    Base salary is determined on a number of factors including, but not limited to, education, experience and skills.

What You'll Do









  • Produce clear, concise, and comprehensive documentation for end users, focusing on features and technical documentation related to installation procedures for our product portfolio
  • Work closely with Product Owners, Developers, Quality Assurance Engineers, and other stakeholders to understand product requirements to translate into clear and concise end-user documentation
  • Manage documentation repositories, ensuring documentation is organized, up-to-date, and easily accessible to internal teams and end users
  • Advocate for the end-user, striving to create documentation that is user-friendly, intuitive, and enhances the overall user experience
  • Review and edit documentation for accuracy, consistency, and adherence to established style guides and industry standards
  • Embrace the principles of Scrum Agile methodology, participating in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives to ensure documentation aligns with development timelines
  • Solicit feedback from internal teams and end users, incorporating suggestions and improvements into documentation iteratively
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in cybersecurity and technical writing, continuously enhancing your skills and knowledge
  • Other tasks and responsibilities as assigned














What You'll Need









  • Bachelor's degree in a related field*
  • 4+ years' proven experience as a technical writer delivering documentation for both end-users and technical stakeholders
  • Proficiency in documentation tools such as ReadtheDocs, BitBucket, Microsoft Word, and Confluence
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a keen eye for detail
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment, managing multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States

It's a Plus if You Have:

  • Familiarity with cybersecurity concepts, terminology, and technologies
  • Strong understanding of Agile methodologies, particularly Scrum
  • Experience with enterprise task management tools (JIRA and Confluence)

*Additional years of relevant experience or a combination of an Associate's degree or equivalent and relevant experience may be substituted for the Bachelor's degree.
