Responsibilities:
  • Primary resource for order authorization and first escalation point for plant supply chain requirements for both Direct and Indirect Procurement functions.
  • Responsible for onboarding new processes, business, suppliers, and material transitions.
  • The Purchasing Manager will coordinate the supply chain for facility. Functions include; historical trend analysis, communication to internal (planning/ops) and external (suppliers) stakeholders, implementation, and monitoring.
  • Will manage three team members, all onsite at the Batavia, OH facility. Responsible for setting and monitoring team goals for each team member.
  • Support other plant locations with respect to purchasing functions as necessary.
  • Obtain and analyze quotations for site specific contract terms and conditions. Support contract analysis on supplier bids as necessary with Regional Procurement Team.
  • Manage inventory levels to minimize inventory carrying costs and track consignment inventory if applicable. Perform historical analysis to identify opportunities to increase inventory turns and minimize waste.
  • Maintain appropriate inventory levels with respect to aging.
  • Process and track supplier claims for material quality issues to ensure timely closure of claims.
  • Analyze changing trends in material pricing and availability and recommend necessary action to ensure; a continued flow of materials to meet production requirements, and identify cost reductions, while meeting quality standards. Implement cost saving initiatives jointly with plant operations.
  • Participate in development teams as needed to introduce new material to production. Manage the start-up process for new suppliers.
  • Maintain all purchasing records and documents and work with Accounting Dept. to resolve invoice discrepancies.
  • Ensure purchasing processes adhere to SOX compliance including purchasing system management for new suppliers, materials and updates to pricing and personnel training.
  • Manage local supplier relationships ensuring suppliers meet quality, cost and service expectations including managing supplier scorecards.
  • Provide routine and ad-hoc reporting related to material purchases, inventory and consignment including metric reporting. Communicate the status of projects and cost saving initiatives.
  • Overall responsibility that materials and services are received and performed, respectively, when necessary for the facility's effective performance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain, or related area required.
  • Minimum 5-7 years of purchasing and material planning experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably label industry.
  • Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience, preferably in a multiple location structure required.
  • Experience using an ERP computer system to plan and procure materials required.
  • Proficient in MS Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Teams required.
  • Proven strong communication, negotiation, analytical and project management skills required.
  • Proven record of achieving annual cost reduction savings and working productively in a fast-paced environment.
  • CPM, CPIM, CIRM, CFPIM or other certification a plus.
