Inova Fairfax Medical Campus is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Supervisor to join the Engineering team! This role is full-time working varied DAY shifts and schedules as needed by the department.

Requirements for consideration:

  • High School or GED
  • 5 years of project management or applicable/related experience with one year in a supervisory role.

Job Responsibilities included but not limited to:

  • Oversees and assists team members in assigned functional area, which may include but not limited to, ensuring team is meeting key-deliverables and quality standards, addressing and resolving challenges, managing and tracking performance, and assisting in time management and scheduling; escalates issues to senior leaders as needed.
  • Ensures that all shop team members utilize appropriate safety precautions outlined in departmental policies and governmental standards.
  • Identifies and documents the justification of resources to accomplish the shop's mission.
  • Acts as a mentor to shop team members in matters of compensation, work assignments, working conditions and other complaints/problems.
  • Establishes performance standards and expectations while providing effective coaching to meet those standards.
  • Provides continuous feedback on team member performance/produces a written annual performance appraisal within 14 days of the due date.
  • Documents disciplinary measures by following the Human Resources positive disciplinary system.
  • Ensures all documentation related to work orders is received and recorded in the CMMS system.
  • Inspects the campus to develop a tabulation of hazardous deficiencies addressing emergency power, fire alarm, nurse call, life safety, physical plant, construction and maintenance issues requiring correction.
  • May perform additional duties as assigned.
