The Business Systems Supervisor is tasked with the critical role of analyzing business challenges and evaluating automated business solutions. This role encompasses the deployment of software projects, the design and delivery of system documentation and training, and the management and support of the Board’s Human Resources, Financial Management and Payroll Systems. The incumbent will also liaise with software suppliers and Board departments and undertake other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

Gather data and analyze business and user needs in consultation with both business managers and end-users

Drive continuous improvement through review of existing procedures and recommending system changes and enhancements

Facilitate software project deployment by creating project scopes, priorities, timelines, and deliverable schedules for approval

Liaise and collaborate with department managers and key stakeholders to determine training needs and objectives

Design training modules and Conduct classroom and individual training sessions in addition to explaining software modules to clients

Document the specifications, design, features, and operation of applications

Manage and support Financial Management and Payroll application systems

Install, patch, and upgrade business systems applications as well as analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve system software issues

Verify backups and configure, optimize, fine-tune, automate, and monitor business systems

Provide technical support and guidance to department stakeholders so they can assist end users

Act as a liaison with software vendors and Board departments and relay end-users reported software issues to software vendors and/or developers

Provide input on design specifications for new or modified software and participate in product advisory committees

Perform other duties, as assigned by the supervisor

Required Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge and Skills:

Degree or diploma in a related field

5 years of related experience

Proficiency with Financial Management and Human Resources software

Good knowledge of Business Productivity Software, Database Software, Database Reporting Software and Scripting Languages for automation

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Excellent analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving abilities

Excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills

Candidates who possess an equivalent combination of education and experience may also be considered.

This is a full time (1.0 FTE) temporary position with a starting salary of $81,639. The anticipated start date of this position will be as soon as the recruitment process is complete. The anticipated end date will be August 2, 2024 (with the possibility of extension).
