A Brief Overview

The key role of a Wood-Mizer Technical Writer is to produce and maintain high-quality documentation that contributes to the overall success of our products. You will join a team of talented technical communicators who work collaboratively with product development engineers, manufacturing, product managers, marketing, sales, customer service, and usability experts to make our products easier to use, all while upholding the integrity of Wood-Mizer's core values.

What you will do

• Develop Operation, Safety, Maintenance, Troubleshooting, and Parts instruction manuals for new product released.
• Update technical documentation based on engineering change notices (ECNs).
• Create assembly and installation instructions for product upgrades, kits, service bulletins, etc.
• Develop line art graphics from CAD models, including exploded views.
• Develop saleable replacement parts lists with input from product development engineers, customer service, and usability experts.
• Monitor and maintain online technical documentation webpages.
• Coordinate and collaborate with other technical writers at our world-wide facilities.
• Collaborate with peer departments based on requests.

Education Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in Communication, Technology, Engineering or a related field Req Or
• Bachelor's Degree in Communication, Technology, Engineering or a related field Pref

Skills and Abilities

• Attention to detail.
• Comfortable interacting with people with cultural and educational differences.
• Ability to write effective and easy to understand instructions based on mechanical, electrical, and electromechanical systems.
• Ability to track down information that may be scattered between departments or personnel.
• Ability to navigate through server/file systems and maintain file location protocol.
• Bonus: Knowledge of HTML, XML, structured FrameMaker, DITA, VBA, or FrameScript
