The Lead Scrum Master is a key member of a development squad with a well-defined software development life cycle process. The Lead Scrum Master applies a broad technical knowledge of the Agile methodology to manage the scrum process with geographically dispersed teams to deliver exceptional standards in product quality and timely, predictable delivery of projects. The Lead Scrum Master oversees multi-functional coordination and communication, requirements traceability, release management, test case management, and defect tracking concerns to keep delivery on track.
Your Primary Responsibilities:
  • Be the servant-leader for the squad to ensure the team lives the agile values and principles and follows the processes and practices the team has agreed to apply.
  • Collaborates on user story, epic, theme definition and documentation with product owner and squad members and manage the product backlog in partnership with the product owner in Jira.
  • Ensure Jira always reflects current state of work and coach the squad on the Agile framework and attitude and guide it to higher Agile maturity.
  • Facilitates daily scrum, sprint planning, sprint demo and retrospective meetings as part of an Agile squad
  • Be an Agile Coach to squad team members through effective approach to support them on squad and tribe goals
  • Ability to ensure the accurate use of scrum processes
  • Manage implementation projects throughout the entire roadmap lifecycle using Agile development methodologies
  • Ability to shield the squad from outside distractions & remove squad impediments or roadblocks
  • Drives maturity of security attitude by proactively identifying meaningful issues and control gaps in current processes; influencing behavior change within the organization and contributing to the building a stronger security-focused culture
  • Act as the point of escalation for risks, issues, and dependencies, ensure action items are clearly defined, assigned to owners, and driven to resolution in a timely manner.
  • Engage with leadership, partners, and collaborators frequently on the status of key initiatives with respect to scope, schedule, cost, and resources; presents RAID logs.

Talents Needed For Success:
  • Minimum of 5 years of related experience
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
Additional Qualifications:
  • Demonstrable experience and knowledge of the subject area of project management including common principles, methodologies and tools used by practitioners.
  • PMI-ACP, CSM, or equivalent required.
  • Expert skills in Atlassian Jira and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • 5 years demonstrable experience in Agile Project Management with 2+ years Scrum Master experience (at a lead capacity).
  • Knowledge of financial services, clearing corporations/depository function, brokerage operations, and associated regulatory requirements a plus
  • Familiarity with risk management, strategic planning, or scenario planning concepts
