As a System Operations Support Advisor, you will help ensure the MISO System Operations team has adequate training and real-time tools to reliably manage real-time conditions on the Bulk Electric System. You will help lead and contribute to the development and execution of departmental/divisional strategy and ensure the development of metrics that align with the achievement of long-term company strategies to meet business expectations. You will also be involved in discussions/meetings on areas of improvement for moving the business forward. Cross functional leadership will be utilized to assist in moving processes forward as well as helping prioritize business efforts within the team and division.

As the System Operations Support Advisor, you will be part of the team that is influencing the tools and processes needed to operate the Bulk Electric System that continues to evolve rapidly. This involves evaluating current work processes and how they can be executed more effectively and efficiently while ensuring the function is set up for future success.

You will collaborate on implementing new requirements, tools, and processes such as FERC Order 881 for Ambient Adjusted Ratings, Electrical Storage Resources (ESR), and general tool upgrades and enhancements that will aid in the performance of reliability analysis by Reliability Coordinators and Engineers. You will join our exceptional control room team and lead by example with a strong sense of responsibility, a positive attitude, and dedication, while demonstrating MISO's core values. In doing so, you will ensure your success, and the success of your team.

In one year as our System Operations Support Advisor, you will know you were successful if

• you have gained high level insight on the functional tools - Energy Management System (EMS), Dispatch Training Simulator (DTS), Real-Time Contingency Analysis (RTCA), and the Interchange Distribution Calculator (IDC)
• you actively participate in open dialog conversations with the operators on what is needed to successfully operate within the reliability team
• you are playing an active role in collaborations with the operators and MISO developers on tool enhancements and fixes

We are looking for hardworking professionals who have:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Economics, Mathematics, Technology or a related field (or ten years of equivalent technical work experience)
• At least six or more years of relevant work experience in related field
• Demonstrated leadership or influential experience, with the ability to effectively influence cross-functionally and at various levels within the organization
• Previous energy industry experience

We would also prefer candidates with the following:

* Previous Energy Market experience

* Power System Analysis experience

* Experience presenting to others on familiar topics

Appropriate level will be determined based upon experience and knowledge.
