Wilson Albers, an Alera Group company, is looking for an Employee Benefits Analyst. This position is responsible for proposal evaluation and renewal support for Group Employee Benefits clients. It is charged with assisting and supporting the Benefit Advisors by bidding the appropriate markets and preparing documents to be included in renewal or proposal for clients.


The Analyst is responsible for managing the renewal process for all assigned clients’ group insurance products and assisting in sustaining these clients by providing quality expertise, timely service and creative solutions to meet their needs. They coordinate the proposal process for insurance and third-party service provider products and services, ensuring the client and the Benefit Advisor have all necessary information to begin the solicitation and negotiation process. Manage data and records in a manner consistent with agency policies and procedures.

Client Service
• Initiate and monitor the renewal process for assigned block of business and manage the market evaluation process. Collaborate with the Employee Benefits team regarding strategies for renewing accounts and evaluating the need for new lines of coverage.
• Collaborate with the Employee Benefits team in negotiations with carriers. Manage and coordinate the review and analysis of plan data.
• Prepare and finalize the proposal or renewal evaluation according to agency standards. Prepare or update experience reports, when applicable, for assigned clients.
• Provide back-up support and assistance to other staff in the underwriting process, the implementation of new contracts and the installation documentation and records.
• Provide back up support to other staff to identify and resolve client conflicts and concerns. Provide back up support to other staff to provide customer service for clients and their employees.
• Maintain and develop thorough knowledge of benefit related products represented by the agency and attend product training as requested.

 

Vendor Management
• Gather information regarding product offerings and pricing, preparing documentation to compare/contrast with competing proposals or with current benefit packages.
• In support of the Employee Benefits team, ensure proposals and renewal evaluations are complete, clear and accurate. Make necessary updates to the document as directed by the Employee Benefits team.
• Maintain effective working relationships in liaison role with insurance company and third-party service partner contacts.
• Continually investigate and recommend ways to improve the system used to evaluate products, insurance carriers and service providers to assure the client selects the product or plan that best meets their goals.

 

Administrative Management
• Maintain an orderly filing system in hardcopy and electronic format.
• Provide support for technology implementation and maintenance such as online communication tools and surveys.
• Work with the Employee Benefits team to coordinate regulatory filings as required and to respond to other compliance related issues.
• Assist with other general office duties, including back-up for the front desk as necessary.


Associates Degree combined with at least three years of experience in benefits administration, analysis or a related field.

Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsft Word, Outlook, Teams and Sharepoint.  Familiarity with Excel and Powerpoint.


Salary: $63,000 to $93,000 DOE
