Job Description


The Senior Database Software Engineer is responsible for architecting, optimizing, and guiding the implementation of mission-critical database solutions using SQL Server and cloud-native technologies. Must be legally authorized to work within country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B) now and/or in the future.

Job Responsibilities

* Research, recommend, design, and guide the implementation of enterprise database systems and associated management, monitoring, and automation tools

* Provide database expertise with respect to migrating systems and applications to the cloud

* Conduct database-implementation performance analysis and tuning

* Lead the adoption, evolution, and understanding of database schema and usage standards

* Assist with production incident and problem resolution as needed

* Demonstrate ability to meet aggressive timelines

* Evaluate the quality of requirements, designs, and tests

* Work independently without immediate supervision

* Use agile planning, estimation, communication, and release processes

* Access Infinite Campus production customer data in public test environments adhering to the practices and procedures outlined in the master security guidelines

* Fulfill other related duties as assigned

Desired Background

* BA/BS in Computer Science or related field

* 5+ years of experience designing and implementing enterprise-level, mission-critical, high-performance SQL Server environments

* Real-world experience tuning enterprise databases for performance, availability, and scalability

* Real-world experience with cloud-native database technologies as well as public cloud environments (preferably AWS) and technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes

* Strong SQL/T-SQL skills

* Excellent communication and presentation skills

* Proven ability to lead through influence
