About the Position


The IT Help Desk Technician performs day-to-day support to all users, as appropriate to system and/or user needs. This role is the first point of contact when a user faces system, software, and/or hardware issues. The Help Desk team triages incoming technical issues and creates or finds solutions to unexpected technical problems. The IT Help Desk Technician will work within the scope of responsibilities as dictated below with guidance and support from our IT leadership team.



Essential Functions

  • Prioritizes, manages, monitors, and resolves Help Desk Ticket Requests in a timely, effective, and efficient manner.
  • Utilizes in-person/walk-up, phone, chat, or remote access to provide technical support for users' reported problems and questions.
  • Identifies and resolves network and related computer system problems. Modifies, installs, and upgrades software, to fix known/unknown issues.
  • Identifies and resolves issues related to PCs, printers, networking and other related peripherals.
  • Trains and educates end-users in company software and device usage.
  • Remotely accesses users' hardware and software to provide technical support.
  • Completes follow-up with users, to ensure full resolution of issues.
  • Documents all customer support interactions in ticketing system.
  • Maintains responsibility for company PC's, Printers, Servers, and related equipment, e.g. monitor, keyboard, mouse, hard drive.
  • Keeps ongoing inventory/storage/waste of all end-user equipment, peripherals, and devices, including but not limited to desk phones, parts, and toner.
  • Creates and updates Active Directory users and groups; resets passwords; disables inactive users.
  • Provisions accounts and permissions through 3rd-party applications and platforms.
  • Coordinates with IT Team and vendors for license management for users.
  • Documents procedures, tasks, and solutions as KB articles.
  • Assists hiring managers and HR staff with on-boarding of new hires.
  • Assembles and ships, as well as repairs and diagnoses company issued devices to end-users.
  • Assists in keeping designated work areas clean, orderly, and free of clutter.
  • Adapts quickly to frequent process changes and improvements.
  • Is reliable, engaged, and provides feedback as to improve processes and policies.
  • Attends all department, team, and company meetings as required.

Requirements:
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Technology certifications including A+, Network+, and Security+, Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) or Help Desk Institute (HDI) desirable
  • Knowledge of MS Active Directory, Windows, Outlook, PC imaging and deployment technologies, etc.
  • Knowledge of web-based programming languages, including PHP, Java, and HTML
  • Knowledge of Desktop components
  • Knowledge of troubleshooting of Mac/PC software, Microsoft operating systems, Microsoft Office, networking, telephony, antivirus and off the shelf applications
  • Experience in a healthcare and/or health-related environment desirable

Pay Range and Compensation Package Pay ranges may vary depending on location. The general pay range for this position is $19 - $21 per hour. Actual compensation depends on education, experience, and relevant skills. In addition, benefits include:
