Behavioral Health Connections (BHC) in Houston is seeking a dynamic and talented Virtual Psychiatric Intake Support RN The Remote Psychiatric Intake Support RN position supports the purpose and procedures of the entire intake and admission process. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following tasks, completing thorough intake assessments, completing thorough nursing admission assessments determining appropriate levels of care with MDs, establishing and maintaining positive relationships with referral sources, documenting inquiry calls and nursing reports, assessment and referral outcomes. Obtaining and documenting medications, health history and precautions from accepting physician. Providing appropriate and thorough SBAR communication with physicians and unit nursing staff. Ensures that the level of treatment and clinical services is appropriate to all patient needs. Responsible for maintaining positive relationships with staff from other departments.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Maintains a professional demeanor at all times and responds to patients, families, co- workers, and community partners in a courteous, respectful manner.
  • Establishes and maintains relationships with referral sources.
  • Provides conflict resolution and follow-up to concerns from agencies and referral sources.
  • Ensures written and computer entries of intake calls, assessments and admissions are accurate and thorough.

Qualifications

Education: Associates Degree in nursing required Bachelors preferred.

Experience: Qualified candidates must be a licensed RN with compact license (NLC). Must have 1+ years' related experience. Experience in an inpatient setting preferred.

Certificates, Licenses and Registrations: Current BLS required.

Additional Requirements: Proficient in Microsoft Office Word, Excel, Outlook. Must possess strong verbal and written communication skills; Excellent time management and organization skills.
