#Plains is currently looking for a full time Operations Technician in our facility in St. Clair, MI.   This position performs required scheduled and unscheduled mechanical maintenance on various facility equipment.  Also maintains up to date maintenance records in compliance with Plains Field Operations.  Also supports the operation of the facility.  Position is subject to call outs for work associated with operations and/or emergency response.

Responsibilities:

· Responsible for operating a propane / butane storage terminal with rail and truck loading / unloading facilities;

· Perform general mechanical and instrumentation or electrical maintenance on equipment at the facility;

· Coordinate the delivery and receipt of propane / butane;

· Appropriately respond to facility operational and safety related alarms;

· Conduct driver and contractor orientations and enforce company policies and procedures;

-Manage various maintenance and operational improvement projects

· Comply with OSHA 1910.119 PSM regulation as it applies to the facility; and

· Comply with CFR 49 Part 195 as it applies to pipeline associated with facility.

Qualifications:

· At a minimum the individual should have completed a high school education or equivalent;

· Previous experience in the LPG industry or truck / railroad terminal operations is preferred;

· Good verbal and written communication skills;

· A strong mechanical, electrical or instrumentation aptitude or experience in an industrial environment would be a plus;

· Computer skills using Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel; and

· Able to work independently with minimal supervision.

Position Requirements:

· Work Monday-Friday, with possible fill-in shift coverage

· Ability to safely lift 50 pounds, climb ladders and stairs, and work at heights;

· Work outdoors in all weather;

· Subject to random DOT drug testing for operation of a DOT / PHMSA regulated pipeline;

· Proof of valid driver’s license;

· Willingness and ability to be on-call 24 hours per day during appointed times; and

· Willingness and ability to travel up to 10% of the time in order fulfill responsibilities of the position.

- Successful completion of the company background and pre-employment drug and alcohol tests.
