Job Summary

The MESA Program Coordinator works closely with the MESA Director to lead the UCSF MESA College Prep Program, serving middle and high school students and teachers across Bay Area Counties. UCSF MESA College-Prep Program provides academic outreach and hands-on, real-world opportunities to explore science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM). MESA coordinates STEM academic and admissions advising services, programming, and outreach services to prospective first-year students, parents, and underserved communities with predominately high first-generation college students.

By working in middle and high schools, MESA enables historically underrepresented and excluded students to prepare for and graduate from a four-year college or university with a STEM-based degree in engineering, the sciences, computer science, and mathematics. Through MESA, students develop academic and leadership skills, increase educational performance and gain confidence in their ability to compete.

The MESA Program Coordinator will lead engagement activities for students and families participating in the College Prep Program, virtual activities throughout the year, ad hoc competitions between chapters, and college and career preparatory activities. In addition, the MESA Program Coordinator will support the Director in data collection and report writing, management and distribution of materials and supplies, and event planning and execution. The MESA Program Coordinator will represent the UCSF MESA Center at monthly state-wide Coordinator meetings.

The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.
